Todays the big day! You thought to yourself in excitement.

You finally got to go back Washington Seattle. That's where your best friend lives, Morty. You and Morty have known each other since pre-school. The both of you barley were apart since then... That was until your parents divorced. Of course, after that your mom has gained custody over you in the court. Your dad had no job to sustain both you and him so you had to have gone with your mom. You currently lived in L.A California. Not the best place to settle if you were honest, but you did see a lot of actors or celebrities here and there so it wasn't all that bad. Besides you can finally live with your dad!

Since last year, the year of the divorce, he found a nice job and was doing better. The divorce really messed with him. He was in debt, jobless, and was a substance abuser. Since then though he has claimed to be clean, and you believed he really was. Your father isn't going to lie to his little girl. You knew that better then your mom. She just rolled her eyes when she heard about it on one of your calls.

The reason why you were in L.A was because your mom had family there. She needed the support. She thought you could use it too. Though you were more heartbroken about leaving your bestie and dad then the divorce in general. You loved your mom but you guys just never had that special bond like with your dad.

As you finished placing your necessities into your bookbag you walked out of your now empty and dull looking room. That room wasn't yours anymore because now your staying with your dad.

"Theres my little girl!" Your mom enthusiastically claimed. She was sitting at the dinner table with a coffee in her hand. Your aunt was in the chair across from her.

"I can't believe it's been a year since you guys have moved in. Seems to early for her to be leaving!" Your aunt Lauren added.

"I know right!" Your mom said.

You just rolled your eyes and smiled lightly, not to ruin the mood with your word vomit or sarcastic tones or as mom calls it "talking back".

"Welp kiddo, we'll be downstairs to take you to the airport in a few minutes." She instructed.

"Alright, ma, I'm gonna go wait in the car." You finally spoke up.

"K sweetie."

You walked down the stairs and out of the apartment complex. In the parking lot, a black Chevy blazer was in the third parking space down from the entrance. You walked around the car and opened the right back passenger door. Placed your bookbag in the middle back seat and climbed in. You check  behind the seats, where the trunk is to make sure you had everything.

After looking at the stuff you had put in the back of the car for about 40 seconds analyzing what you had packed in each thing, you turned around and pulled your phone out of your pocket. You let out a relieving sigh. Letting out all your tension and excitement to calm yourself. After, you turned your phone on and messaged Morty.

You: MORTY THIS IS AN EMERGENCY PLEASE ANSWER NOW ILL DIE IF YOU DONT 😵🙅‍♂️😭

Mort: awe geez- WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU⁉️
U OK?

You: no bozo, I'm coming back today

Mort: oh right had me worried for a moment totally forgot lol

Mort: ttyl L

You heard that distinct click the door makes when it opens feeling the cool air from outside rush in the car. Your mother entered the driver's seat while your aunt entered the  passengers side. They were rambling on about the morning news as your mom pulled out of the parking spot turning onto the road. You took out your headphone case opening it only taking one out so you could hear if someone was talking to you. You played the song Cigarettes Out the Window by TV girl.

After about five minutes of silence your mom glanced in the rearview mirror at you and spoke up.

"Sweetie, you have everything you need right?"

"Yes mom, I do. Why?"

"Im just checking. And your sure you want this?"

"Mom, of course I'm sure. I've been waiting since day one to go back. I want this."

"..ok, but please remember when your on that airplane to not talk to strangers, do not leave with anyone, and when you get off look for your dad right away. And you have your ph-"

"Mom! Yes! I won't be stupid you dont need to worry. I know what and what not to do. And I always have my phone."

"O-ok. I can wait with you in the waiting room. And if your dad does anything stupid, I mean anything. Don't hesitate to go talk to Beth and her family."

"Uh- ok but dads been clean. He's bettered himself. You don't need to worry."

"I-i know but drug users lie sometimes you know- addiction. It's hard to cope with."

"Yeah."

You guys pulled up to the front of the airport. You, your aunt, and your mom both exited the car pulling your luggage out the back. Aunt Lauren closed the trunk door.

"Alright kiddo. This is where we part." Lauren said holding her arms out for a hug.

You hugged her back. She sniffled and rubbed here right eye. Tears started flooding your eyes but you stayed strong.

"I'll miss you aunt Lauren. Thanks for taking care of me and my ma and I'll keep in touch. Love you." I smiled backing out of the hug.

"Of course. Take care." She quivered out. She then walked back to the Blazer and open the driver door. She rolled down the window and told my mom she'll be waiting in the parking lot. My mom shook her head and we began rolling my luggage through the airport entrance.

After getting to the luggage scanners you and your mom had to part ways.

"Sweetie, hears 40 bucks. Gas money for dad y'know. Stay safe- an-" You cut her off with a hug. Tears swelled up in your eyes.

"I love you mom. And I'll be careful. I'll call you when I land. And you take care of yourself too.. ok?" You tried to sound confident in your words but your voice strained a few times.

"Of course. Take care of yourself sweetie. I promise everything will be ok on this end.." she started crying. It made you want to cry but you choked your tears back. Your face felt warm, like it was going to melt right off.

You waved bye and turned around. Your mom watched as you started walking to put your luggage in the conveyor belt to load it all on the plane. Afterwards you went to the waiting lobby for your ride and sat on your phone for about an hour before you could board.

It gets more interesting as you read on please be patient with this 💪
