Well..... This wasn't what Jungkook was expecting.Okay, maybe he did have his hopes up way too high, wanting to believe that he spent hours of sleepless nights to make the perfect poster and ignoring the snickering students as he checked the field to test out how steady it is - at least get some type of recognition in return by it.
Which were try outs.
It's 3 o'clock, classes has ended now, and here stands Jungkook with hands to his hips as he scowls over the sight before his eyes with a nervous Yeri by his side to his stern expression.
There's five people that showed up.
Five.
One of them being Taehyung, who thought of being the most supportive friend to ever exist - even though he has no experience in football and only joined just for some moral support. He's currently jumping around the field in his torn sneakers with a bright smile, fluttering to the other four people in a conversation - only receiving scowls or just plainly ignoring him.
And let's just say..... None of these people look physically active or fit for this.... At all.
Maybe they were forced to come here, who the fuck knows.
It crazy to think how in Jungkook's previous school, try outs were - well still is - literally the busiest time of the season. So many people want to join the team, but after realizing how hard practices are and getting kicked off by the coach, that's how Jungkook ended up having the team he had before being kicked out by the school.
Well, there's no time to reminisce the past. Jungkook has to work with what he has now after all.
No one said this would be easy to begin with after all.
So while sending Yeri an exasperated look, who only nods back as a form of encouragement, Jungkook steps forward, "Alright line up everyone," The five students followed orders to Jungkook's strict tone, "My name is Jeon Jungkook, welcome to try outs-"
"You're just a kid, how are you our coach?"
The boy with blonde hair and cheetah prints designs on the sides had the audacity to cut in, making Jungkook snap his gaze towards him.
Oh wow, someone not knowing their manners already.
The guy who spoke is very small. Lanky. Probably use to talking over people often obnoxiously.
Well, who knows, maybe he will be useful.
Jungkook narrows his eyes and walks towards him, practically towering over his small form that had the boy look up at him with a cautious stare and a thick gulp. When Jungkook gets serious, he gets fucking serious. After all, he was a captain for a team, and the most intimidating one too.
That hasn't changed.
So he tilts his head to the side, "And you are?"
No matter how intimidating Jungkook may be, these people aren't like the ones from his school. They know how to play the game too, if not even better.
That's why the boy didn't even batter a shiver of fear, only tilts his head up too daringly, "Hongjoong."
"Great, nice meeting you," Jungkook beams cynically and leans to his face, "Can you play football?"
"Well.... No-"
"Did I say I was the coach?"
"No but-"
"Then you should keep your mouth shut until you manage to at least know the rules, yeah?" And Jungkook's smile falls, "Do I make myself clear!"
Hongjoong flinches now to his tone, standing up straight, "Yes sir."
