I never liked Christmas. I mean, yeah sure the Dursleys got me things for Christmas before we came to Hogwarts, more than what they gave Harry (which was practically nothing), but I don't care about the gifts. Christmas is about giving and spending time with your friends and family.
Every Christmas since Harry and I started coming to Hogwarts the Dursleys sent us nothing. The only presents we got were knitted jumpers from Molly Weasley. But I don't care about that. I was at least surrounded by friends every Christmas. However, I don't know how this Christmas is going to go since Harry and the whole Weasley family hate me now.
I got out of my bed, got dressed then headed down to the common room. All the Gryffindors (The Weasleys, Harry and Dean), were there, opening their presents but they all looked my way when they heard me coming down the stairs. This would be fine if they all didn't hate me. "Mum made you a jumper too. Feel free to throw it in the fire," Ron spoke then turned away. I simply rolled my eyes and walked over to the exit, not wanting to get into an argument. "She's probably going to see Malfoy," I heard Ginny say. "He's such a bellend," She added.
I turned around and went over to her then stood behind her with my arms crossed. "I don't care if you insult me, but when you insult the people I care about then we're going to start having problems," I told her. Ginny stood up and faced me. "Malfoy is a snob who only cares about himself. He doesn't give two sh*ts about you and doesn't care what you want," Ginny said with a straight face. "He cares more about me than all of you ever did and ever will," I shot back. "It seems like that but before you know it he's going to shed his skin and come out as the true snake he is-" Ginny barely finished her sentence before I slapped her right across the face, which was an impulse decision. It felt good though.
"Don't talk about him like that," I spat at her before snapping my body the other way and leaving the Gryffindor common room with anger built up inside of me. I walked down to the Great Hall where there were a couple of other students present, talking to their friends. I went over and sat in the spot Draco and I sat in yesterday and stared at the blazing fire, nothing in my mind. I was listening to the sizzling and crackling of the fire and watching the flames dance.
I didn't take my eyes off the fire for some time until I felt a tap on my arm. I jumped slightly before looking and seeing Draco standing next to me.
"What's wrong?" He asked. "Nothing's wrong?" I lied. "Even though we were enemies since the very first day of school, I know when you're upset about something," Draco said as he sat beside me. "Okay, well, in the Gryffindor common room this morning, Ginny said some things about you so I might have slapped her in the face," I admitted. "Aw, you slapped someone in the face for me?" Draco asked, adoringly. "Yeah," I said and nodded in response. "You're so kind," Draco smiled as he wrapped his arm around me and pulled me into a warm embrace, then kissed the top of my head.
"You're kind too," I said and smiled as he held me in his arms. "Yesterday you said I was mean," Draco responded. "I take that back," I said then leaned into him more. I felt eyes on me so I looked over at the other students sitting in the Hall and they were staring at Draco and I, whispering. I have them all the bird before looking up at Draco and pecking him on his lips.
Draco had a large, content smile on his face as he looked at me. "Happy Christmas, n/n," He then said. "Happy Christmas, Draco," I said back with a smile. Draco then leaned in and placed his lips back on mine. I kissed back immediately, feeling the familiar warmth of his pale lips.
When we pulled away I could still feel the stares of the other students and it was starting to make me uncomfortable which I think Draco could sense because he leaned over to my ear and whispered, "Don't acknowledge them in any way, they're just jealous you're dating the hottest guy in school." I chuckled softly as he pulled away. "That's an overstatement, I would say the cutest guy," I told him. "Mmm, you see that's where I have to disagree with you," Draco then said in a slightly playful tone. "How about we agree to disagree?" I suggested, playing with his hair. "Fine," He agreed, smiling at what I was doing. I knew the other kids were still looking and it still bothered me.
