XVIII

I was near the apartment when I saw that familiar car..

Regina! Thank goodness she's here!

My eyebrows knitted when I saw that the house was dark. I pulled over behind her car.

Tama! Baka nasa loob lang ng kotse niya, at hindi pa bumababa kasi nga walang tao sa bahay!

A smile crossed my beautiful face.

Feeling relieved.

I decided earlier to tell her everything so that I could ask her for help.

I hop out from the car and headed to her car.

I peek inside but Regina wasn't in there.

Nasaan yun?

I faced the apartment and swallowed.

Nasa loob na siya? Bat walang ilaw?

Pero wala naman si Regina sa kotse niya. Naputulan naba ako ng kuryente?

I decided to get inside to know where she really was.

I turned the knob..

But hey?

It wasn't locked?

Tama! Nasa loob nga si Regina!

My heart smiled.

I pushed the door open...

Slowly..

Because it was really dark.

I got in..

Switched on the light..

It worked.

Slowly taking steps..

I stopped by the stairs..

Roaming my eyes around the living room and to the kitchen. There wasn't a sign of Regina.

I took the stairs and climb up to my room.

The door in my room was ajar.

Slowly..

I neared the door..

And peeps inside..

It was dark of course..

I pushed it..

And grabbed the switch to my right.

The light filled the room.

But..

"Bhest?"

I searched for her

In the bathroom

But t'was empty.

I was about to go back to the room to search for her anywhere else, when something caught my eyes, from my peripheral vision, something was on the floor, to my left, near the bed.

I turned around..

Panic a rises as soon as I realized what was it.. I quickly came closer to it.
