Kevin's POV

After scouring the forest for dry wood, each person came back to the plane with about a handful of fire wood. I volunteered to make the fire so the others could do other things. Esther as looking for things in other people's bags, so we were close enough to start a conversation.

And that's exactly what we did.

"Hey Kevin, what should I be looking for exactly?" Esther poked her head out of a broken window.

"Basically food, clothing, and medicine," I said, not taking my eyes off of the fire. There was a clearin above me, so I could use the sun to burn me a fire. "Oh, and airplane blankets and pillows."

"Ok, Kev."

"Oh, and can I borrow your glasses to get a spark?"

Esther didn't respond. Instead, she poked her glasses out the window and shined a beam of light straight on the fire pit. I decorated the perimeter of it with smooth stones I found by a nearby river.

"Guys, were back!" Avi and Kirstie had returned with an airplane bowl filled with river water. "Looks like the fire is already up!"

I smiled. "Yeah. Your genius sister helped me with it. She's in the airplane looking for stuff."

"I found a solar powered Easy Bake Oven!" Esther yelled. She's grew it out of the plane and Kirstie caught it.

"Yes! Now we can bake!" Kirstie had a huge grin on her face.

"Where's Scömíche?" Avi asked, placing the bowl in the ground next to the fire.

"I don't know," Kirstie replied. "I just hope they are OK,"

Mitch's POV

"Scott, how long are you going to take to get there?" I whined. Scott was holding me in his arms, since I had already gotten hurt. I scratched my ankle on a sharp branch and Scott claimed he could see my bone.

Being the fabulous sad a queen I am, I denied it, not wanting to think about the gruesome injury I had on my ankle.

"Guys, were here!" Scott said. I looked where he was looking and saw that Avi, Kirstie, Kevin, and Esther were already boiling fish.

"How long did we take?" I asked.

"About 45 minutes," Kevin laughed. "Come have dinner with us!"

Scott put me on a rock and went inside the plane. "I saw a doctor on the plane so I think he has some things." He explained.

Scott came back with a medical kit and a mom's first aid kit. "I'm just going to swab the scrape and then bandage it, ok?" Scott said.

"Let the pre med graduate do it," I pointed to Kevin. Both men laughed and Kevin took over.

"And by the way Scott, you don't swab an open bone." Kevin was still laughing a little. "He just needs to clean his cut with water."

Kevin took some water from a bowl and poured it on my ankle. It burned a bit, but not enough to make me flinch.

"Does this hurt?" Kevin asked as he picked up my foot and started twisting my ankle in all directions.

"YES! OUCH KEVIN!" I yelled, clutching my foot.

"Sorry, just checking." Kevin shrugged.

Kevin took a bandage and wrapped it around my ankle. "Your ankle is sprained and we don't have crutches your size, so do you want to use two walking sticks or just limp?"

"Two walking sticks I guess," I responded. Kevin went back into the plane and came back with two matching walking sticks.

"Here, Mitch." He handed them to me. "Try and walk with them."

I found it quite hard to walk with the sticks so I handed them back to Kevin. "Limping will do," I said.

Kevin went to put the sticks back and came back with forks, knives, and plates.

"Let's eat!" He smiled. The whole group went to sit by the fire to eat fish.

I think we can survive this. I have faith in us.
