Mitch's POV
I was shocked. Kirstie, usually being nice and fluffy, just threatened me. so think this survival stuff is getting to her head.
"W-what's this?" I stuttered. Kirstie can be really scary when she gets mad like that.
"It's a freaking note! And I told you read it!" Her fist was closer to my face than before. "Now read it!"
"Ok, miss crabby attitude," so took the paper and read it. My face fell immediately after reading what was on it.
"Where did you find this?" I asked Esther, not wanting to work up Kirstie's anger.
"In the back pocket of the pilot's pants." Esther explained, rubbing Kirstie's back.
"Oh..." I suddenly got a head ache. Something had come back into my memory that I've been trying to forget since the plane crashed. "Lemme tell you a little something..."
~flashback~
"Mitchie, Mitchie, Mitchie," Travis was tapping his index finger on his waist while shooting an evil grin at me.
"What do you want, blondie?" I said.
"You." Travis was still smiling. "We never got to that marriage."
"You never engaged me! You pilot dad hates me anyways."
"But what about the ring?"
"Oh yeah? The one that SCOTT gave me?"
"You asked for it." Travis had me in a chokehold. I felt something wet on my cheek. The wet substance fell into my mouth and I recognized it. It was blood.
"MITCH!" Esther was in the men's bathroom
"See you later... Mitchie," Travis walked backwards and broke I to a sprint out of the bathroom.
Esther had run to me and held my face. "Are you ok, Mitch?"
Then everything went black.
~end of flashback~
Scott looked mad. "So you were going to marry that son of a b--"
"No, Scott. He never gave me a ring." I got up and went to sit near Scott. "He considered your ring his and claimed he was going to marry me."
"Oh," Scott's face softened. "I told you that ring could make guys jealous."
"Stop trying to be optimistic, Scottie." I sassed him.
"Wait, can you read the note out loud?" Avi asked, eager to know what everybody was ranting about.
"Dad," I started. "I am telling you, Mitch is on the plane! Now's your chance to finally kill him! Crash the plane, I'll help you escape."
I put the note on the ground and looked at everyone's shocked faces.
"So Travis' dad was out to kill you?" Kevin asked. I nodded.
"And Travis didn't care?" Avi asked. "I mean, he loves you."
"No he doesn't," I responded. "Travis jus wanted to use me." I sniffed.
The whole camp was silent for about 10 minutes. all you could hear was rustling leaves and the fire burning.
"I light in the room, it was you who was standing there." Scott started singing.
"Tried it was true, as your glance met my stare," Kirstie joined in.
"But your heart drifted off, like the land split by sea," Avi joined the two do them.
"I tried to go, to follow, to kneel down at your feet," For some reason, Kevin had joined them.
"I'll run, I'll run, I'll run, run to you." The four of them sang while I just sat there with tears on my face.
"I've been settling scores, I've been fighting so long," Avi continued.
"But I've lost your war, and our kingdom is gone," Kirstie sang.
"How shall I win back, your heart which was mine?" Scott and Kevin sang together.
"I have broken bone, and tattered clothes, I've run out of time." Esther joined in. She has a really good voice!
"I'll run, I'll run, I'll run, run to you." I finally gathered the courage to sing with the rest of the group.
After finishing the song, everyone got ready for bed. "Well continue this tomorrow ok?" Kirstie said, her voice now soft and soothing.
"Ok."
