Kirstie's POV

After eating out breakfast, Scott and Kevin left to go get some resources. Ya know, sticks, meat, tools, the basic stuff.

It was my job to take care of Mitch. Avi and Esther were chatting about something I wasn't sure of. I heard the conversation, but not all of it.

"Is Mitch doing ok?" Esther walked past me. Mitch was asleep in his raft.

"He's getting better, he's just got a cold or something now," I got up and walked with Esther. "Avi, watch Mitch."

"So, what were you guys talking about?" I asked Esther.

"Well, Avi and I think Travis is at fault for us being stranded here." Esther responded. "The pilot had a $100 bill in his pocket and we saw Travis holding a $100 on the plane."

"Wait, hold up." I stopped Esther. "Travis was on OUR plane?"

Esther nodded. "And he bribed the pilot to crash the plane."

"Then wouldn't he be dead?"

"No, Travis jumped out of the plane with a parachute once the first wing fell off. He could be in the forest though."

"We should head back, Scott and Kevin said they'd be here by sundown."

"Yeah, let's head back."

I headed back to camp with Esther and were greeted by the smell of fish cooking.

Scott's POV

Kirstie and Esther returned, so we could have a "family" dinner.

"So, find anything new?" Kirstie asked as she say down next to Avi. Esther sat next to Kevin.

"I found sharp stones that we could carve tools and scrape wood with," Kevin revealed a bag filled with sharp stones.

"Cool," Esther said. "Mitch, is your ankle getting better?"

"Yeah, it doesn't hurt anymore but Kevin said I need to keep the bandage on it for another day before I would be fully well." Mitch smiled weakly. "Kirstie says I have a cold though."

I finished my fish and went t go shower first. When I came back, the group was having a serious discussion.

"Hey Scott, come join us." Mitch invited me next to him. "Esther, proceed."

"So, Avi and I think Travis is at fault for the crash landing." Esther glanced at Avi.

"How is that even possible?" I asked.

"Well, Travis was on our plane. I noticed he had a $100 bill on him on his way in. When we were escaping, the bill was in the pilot's pocket." Esther pulled a blood covered $100 bill from her pocket.

"And Travis mysteriously jumped out of the plane with a parachute when the first wing fell off," Avi said. "He must have tricked the pilot into crashing the plane."

"He probably promised the pilot he would help him escape while the plane was crashing but then just abandoned all of us." Kevin mentioned.

"So Travis may or may not be in this very forest." Mitch said, his voice trembling a little.

"So Travis was on the plane and I didn't know?" I was concerned. I must have scared Mitch and Kirstie, so I softened my tone. "Who's turn is it to take a shower? I already boiled the water for the next person."

Mitch got up and walked to the showers.

The whole camp was silent for the rest of the night. We even went to sleep early. We were basically detectives now. Just without the proper equipment to survive.
