10. Close Call

"You poor dear. You don't know what you have gotten yourself into." The Savior spoke as she peered over at the cell. She looked back at me, "Ray have you managed to get anything out him?"

I stare over, "he's been really stubborn..." I comment. "He won't speak despite all the elixir I've given him." She sighs.

"Can I really trust you with this?" I tighten my fist feeling slightly agitated at the situation.

"I don't want to go overboard...something bad may happen." I soon heard a cough coming from the cell.

"She's...using you..." I walk over before banging on the cell.

"Shut it! So far you've only been buying yourself time! Tsk!" This was all going as planned. But suddenly now we have an intruder.

"Ray..." I look back. "We're gonna have to hold off the mission with the RFA until we find the intruder." I slightly frown. "Ray this man won't speak unless you drop the good boy act."

"...Drop. It?" I stared at her.

She closes her eyes, "I expect results by the time I get back." I stare off to the side. She walked away leaving me here.

"I...Tried being nice, but you've made that hard." I spoke towards the man. "Now you'll know how true hell feels like."

...

I stare down at the man. I kneel down, "Do you have anything to say? Or do you want more?" He looked like he was in pain... 'good'.

"I-I don't know..." I frown before kicking him.

"Tell me already!"

"Th-They're a new...recruit."

My heart stops. 'A new recruit?' There are a few, but...no. I harshly grab him. "What's their name? How do they look like?!"

"I-I don't know..." I get up. "I just hired them..."

...

I look down as I clean around the kitchen. I really wasn't cut out for this job...at least I was decent. "Tsk..." I felt annoyed. I couldn't find my employer despite being told he'd be here. 'What happened to him?' There has also been a lot of whispering going around. 'What's going on?'

"C472?" I look over to who was calling. Two bigger men in robes stood. They...were calling me? I look around already feeling the stares. This was very alarming...

"Yes...?" They looked at each other before nodding their head.

"You along with others have been summoned. We are here to escort you." 'Why was I being summoned?' I frown before nodding my head, and going along with them. It was the only thing I could do now.

...

They were really keeping their eyes on me. I can just feel it as we walked. "We've got the last one." We come to a stop. I look forward, and notice a couple more believers up against the wall. 'What is going on?' I soon notice Ray.

"Thank you," He spoke. "You," he signaled at me, "get with the other believers." His voice sounded cold slightly surprising me. I nod my head before doing as told. I looked down feeling a pit in my stomach.

"All of you are new recruits if I am right. I would like to say that there is an intruder amongst you all. If you are there reveal yourself, and your punishment may not be as bad." His tone of voice was unsettling. Now he seemed a bit different which had me nervous. There was a silence amongst all of us. There were small whispers, but nothing came of it. "Just know that you were warned."

His eyes slightly glance at me. 'Have I already been caught?' This was an intense feeling I hadn't felt in a while as they searched every room. My hands felt cold, and breathing began to feel impossible as the pit in my stomach began to form more. I take small glances trying to see if there are any ways of escape, but there were none.

I look to the side before trying to take a step forward. "We aren't done yet. Everyone is to stay here until the search is over." I look up.

"I need to go..."

"You'll have to hold it." I swallow as the only sound I began to hear was static...all those screams. I began thinking about them... 'why do they scream?' Soon they walk out.

I direct my attention over towards them. They began speaking with Ray. He looked pissed. He then turned around, "all of you get back to work, and do not speak of what happened here. Because if I hear a single word I will make sure you all get a cleansing. And I'll be the one to carry it out."

Everyone looked fearful. Even the ones that brought us here one by one. There was a completely different side to him that I hadn't noticed. That's right...no one ever quite seems at ease with him around. Though I thought it was because of his standing, but if this is how he truly is then I can see why.

He soon walks away, and so does everyone else. I take a sigh of relief before quickly heading into my room. It certainly did look like they checked every nook, and cranny. Although how was I not caught? I quickly began looking for my things, but couldn't seem to find them.

I stare off to the side...nothing. I began slowly walking out my room. How could that be? I began walking back. Soon I felt my arm get grabbed.
