I gasp as I am yanked aside, "shh!" I was quickly shushed. 'Wait...' This man seemed familiar. I nod my head before grabbing onto his wrist trying to push it away. He pulls away upon noticing my actions. "I'm not here to hurt you." His voice sounded familiar, but I couldn't quite tell who he was due to the hood over his head.
My eyes soon widen, "y-you're the one that helped me back then." He slightly nods his head. I look around, "why did you help me?" I stare up at him, "just who are you...?" he was hiding his features with his hood.
"I'm sorry, but I can't tell you that." I slightly glare at him. "I tried warning you about this place, and how to act. But you have somehow managed to garner some amount of attention. Especially with that boy."
"I'm sorry, but I still don't know why you pulled me aside like this. This is all information I already know." He seemed to have gotten the idea that I don't want to be wasting time. "So what? Is your plan to turn me in, and buy more time for yourself. Since you're obviously an intruder here." He shakes his head. I stay quiet. My next moves are limited now that someone knows that I'm an intruder. "Fine," I sigh. "How about we both pretend we didn't meet each other...A306."
"I get it. I can't expose you because then you'll expose me, and vise versa... although I didn't plan on it, but if you hadn't realized your stuff is missing," he spoke.
"My stuff...where are my stuff?" He got out the bag he had hidden under his robe. "Did you look inside?" It'd be dangerous if he did.
"No, but you should leave while you still can. Like he said if a word of what happened gets out then every new recruit will get a cleansing. Meaning you're already in danger." He seemed nervous. "Can...I ask you why you're here? That might drop my nervousness."
I sigh, "I'm simply looking for a person that should be here..." I couldn't tell him completely why. Although at this point this was very dangerous, and now I'd probably have to drop it. But I still needed to find my employer.
"Someone? So...what you're saying is that if you find that someone then you'll leave? Right?"
"Yes, I will leave." I shake my head, "we can talk more about this later. Meet me at around the garden. Hopefully nothing will come up. Now I need to go."
"Wait," I turn around at his quick response. "None of this concerns that boy does it?"
"Boy? Um you mean Ray?" I shake my head, "no, if anything I really want him off my back now." I sigh. He could've really been useful, but not anymore now that I'm dropping this.
...
I kneel down looking at one of the flowers. "Hmm..." I look down as I put in more detail with my pencil. It's a skill I picked up over all my years of doing work. You can't just detail everything you've seen to just someone so you might as well learn how to draw it especially right after seeing it while it is still fresh in your mind. Drawing a scene also helped when it's more detailed.
I sigh. This whole day had me nervous. Everyone around me seemed wary of me now. It must be the same for the others who were searched. Hopefully they have the sense to keep their mouths shut, or else we'll all be in trouble. And whatever this cleansing thing is...it didn't sound too nice. That man wasn't here yet either...
"I wasn't expecting to see you here." His voice sounded soft again...no longer the very unsettling one I heard before. I close my eyes still slightly nervous. Not knowing what to say I didn't respond back. "Um...That flower you're drawing there it's called-."
"Lilly of the valley." I spoke softly before getting up. "I've seen it before. I know the meaning behind it, but I find it more pleasing to look at." There was a slight tension.
