With her hands wrapped tightly around her books, she hesitantly walked into Mr. Butler's class. She knew that with the levels of intimacy that they had now shared, being nervous was irrotational but she still was. His ice blue eyes followed her to her seat, where she slowly sat down staring up at the white board in front of her. She was doing everything in her power to not look at him, but as he stood up her eyes were forced in his direction.

"I'm sure you've all done your homework which I set last week..." he began, picking up a clipboard on his desk with a list of students names on. Shit. Natalie already knew she was going to get called out for incompletion, but he couldn't blame her.

"Daisy.. where's your homework." The sheepish girl to the far right, tried to muster up some sort of excuse, however Austin wasn't going to buy her words for one second. Instead of threatening her with a consequence he stared over at Natalie. "Natalie.. I think you know what I'm going to say."

"I'm sorry there's been a lot going on-" Natalie wasn't sure why she was trying to make excuses up, he already knew everything about her life- her doing this was just excessive. "I know miss Kravitz, but you've been regularly not completing homework, I'm going to need to see you after class to discuss our options here."

Options? Natalie knew he wasn't going to expel or suspend her, so what did he mean by that. A part of her felt he was saying this just as an excuse to see her again, which was probably the case. Regardless, she dipped her head in agreement and opened the book to page 364.

As the class rolled to an end, Natalie began to disperse like the rest of the bunch. Austin didn't try to keep her there or ask her to stay, so she had no reason to. She was going to go to his office later on, for now she was going to head to Geometry.

Geometry was one of the few lessons she actually sat with Alice, so this would give her the chance to actually speak to her about what was going in. As she walked through the door she was greeted with the blasting of a fan from the corner of the room. It wasn't even that hot today, her teacher was just dramatic.

The fan was a distraction, however not a distraction enough to stop her from scanning her eyes across the room for Alice. Although to her surprise, she wasn't there. A pang of guilt fell upon her as she slid into her usual seat, she felt a wave of coldness as the emptiness of the seat beside her hit her. Maybe she shouldn't of told Alice, maybe the shock was too much for her.

Groaning, she copied down the date and title for their unit of work.

Alice hit the numbers again, for the fifth time. There was no way she was going to let Letha get away with what she was doing, not to her best friend. Once again, the phone rang for a few seconds, before ending with the dull automated recording. "Fuck." She felt like throwing her phone onto the ground and stamping on it, but unlike her sister she could control her impulses.
