"Steve. Steve wake up!" A voice urged. "What?" Steve grunted rubbing his eyes. "There's a boy at the door for you." Steve furrowed his brows and waddled over to his window. He peeked outside to see Chevrolet Camaro Z-28 parked at the end of the drive. Steve's eyes widened as his head swiveled round to his clock which read 'Thursday 15th November 7:54'
In a panic, Steve pulled some trousers on and swapped his shirt for a school appropriate one, then bolted down the stairs but stopped when he noticed a handsome Billy filling to door way. Billy shot a smirk in Steve's direction.
"Steve, I've got your bag, everything's in it, lunch money, books, homework." A small woman said walking into the room. "Thanks mum." Steve replied taking the bag off her and heading out the door. "Bye." He said as he walked down the path, his shoulder scaping against Billy's. "Bye boys, have a good day at school." yelled Mrs Harrington waving them off.
Billy waved back with a joyous smile spread across his face. "Ohhh she's so embarrassing." Steve groaned, his face painted a deep shade of red. Billy chuckled at the site. "No it's not funny she does it all the time, even when I drive myself to school." Steve replied with a laugh in his voice. "It is funny. She's your mum she's there to embarrass you." Billy said still laughing at Steve's tomato face. The rest of the journey they chatted about what they'd spent their days off school doing, which was nothing as they where both grounded. They arrived at school and made there way inside. As they walked, Steve could feel the people around them whispering and staring. "Why's everyone staring at us?" Steve whispered to Billy who was swagger walking down the hall, cigarette in mouth.
They made it half way done the hall when a sophomore approached them. "Um I thought you too where ment to be like enemies or something." She giggled, glancing back at her friends who where giggling too. Steve furrowed his brows and began to speak but was cut off by the boy next to him. "Yeah and." He shoved the girl out of his path and into the lockers. She made a loud thump as she hit them. Everyone's eyes where glued on the scene as they watched it unfold. Unfazed, Billy marched down the corridor. Steve's eyes flickered from Billy to the girl ,who was now gripping her back in pain and gasping for air, and back again.
Unsure of what to do, Steve jogged after Billy and they continued their walk to history. They made it the classroom and strolled in, taking their seats at the back of the room. "Ahh Mr Harrington, Mr Hardgrove nice to have you back and nice of you to be early for once." The teacher greeted them, writing some dates upon the board. They plonked their bums down at their desks and waiting for everyone to arrive.
After a long 6 hours the day had finally finished and everyone could go home. Steve and Billy had different classes so they arranged to meet in the carpark at the Chevrolet Camaro Z-28 so Billy could drop Steve off at home. Steve approached the car to find no one near by. He waited half an hour but Billy still didn't show. Another half an hour, no one was to be seen. Time kept ticking and Billy still didn't show. Where on Earth could he have gotten too? The sun was starting to set and Steve need to get home as he was grounded. With Billy impersonating Harry Houdini, Steve thought it would be best if he walked home.
He arrived home to an empty house and a note on the kitchen table. The note read
Gone out
Will be back soon
Love mum and dadAs Steve finished reading the note he heard the sound of the front door creaking open. Unaware of who this was, Steve grabbed the nearest object to him which was a wooden spoon. He crept round the corner and waited in the kitchen doorway. The footsteps crept closer and closer until they where right around the corner. Steve was breathing heavily, his heart leaping out of his chest. "AHHHH!" he leapt out, striking the intruder on the head with the spoon. "Oww. What was that for?" the intruder whined, grasping his head. "Billy!?! ..What?... Why?... How?...Why are you in my house?" Steve stammered. "I came to apologise." Billy responded still gripping his head, occasionally removing his hand, looking for any blood. "That bloody hurt that."
Steve was shocked. He didn't know how to respond. Billy abandoned him at school and then showed up not at his house but inside it. "Sorry but I didn't expect someone to be in my house. How did you get in?" "The door was open." Billy shrugged. "What! That doesn't mean walk in!" Steve yelled. "Well I did knock but no one answered." The mullet wearer replied. Steve was in disbelief. "What do you want to appologise for then?" He replied, sitting down at the wooden table. Billy strolled over and joined him. "Im sorry for not giving you a lift home. Some woman was asking about what happened this morning. That's girl right if you care." Billy lifted his hand up and placed it on the table. "It fine it wasn't your fault but you need to stop injuring people." Steve chuckled, raising his hand and placing it atop of Billy's. Their eyes locked. "I love you." "I love you too, Harrington."
