💞 For a long time after his wife's death, he had been the focus of women's attention. None had moved him because one had caught his eyes eight years after his wife's death. It was none other than Xta Nwabuagu.
💞 He had encountered her about ten years ago when her late husband who had later become his friend had employed him as his lawyer. She had walked in to speak with the hard man. He had watched them speak. Although he did not hear them speak, he had seen the fierceness and challenge in her eyes.
💞 He had begun to like her from that moment. Over the years, the infatuation that had not been nearly enough to alarm him had slowly turned into the hot tempestuous desire that he struggled with everyday now, threatening vehemently to envelope him whole like flame on paper, more especially since her husband's death.

💞 Now there was David Emecheta, the man that had brought warmth and light into her life after many years living in a bid, dwelling in avid darkness with that devil. He had made her rethink her stand on life that her life was not yet over until she said it was.

💞 It wasn't about what she wanted. She had wanted him in a subtle way before, knew that she wanted him terribly now. He wanted her too, as much as she did. She knew, just knew that he wouldn't offer anything if he as much as knew. It was her fault and she knew. She had led him on, brought him here yet couldn't proceed, too scared, too afraid of the truth, refusing to live an illusion, a fantasy.
