It was another (semi)normal day on the Octopod. Everyone had gathered in the Game Pod for the night and were watching Kwazii and Tweak attempting to behead each other with paper towel rolls with mild interest.

"Ooh, Kwazii, here's one you'll like." Dashi remarked casually, peering over her tablet at the rather immature pair with paper towel rolls at the ready.

"What is it, matey?" Kwazii looked up eagerly as he dodged a swipe from Tweak.

"From @JustOneToughCookie, Can Calico Jack make a guest apperance? If not I dare Kwazii to ring him and ask for his HONEST opinion on everyone in the room." Kwazii looked devious for a second, then pulled out his Octo-Watch and began to scream into it, knowing full well about the state-of-the-art noise sensors Tweak had installed into them.

"AHOY GRANDAD!!!!!" Kwazii shrieked as everyone else ducked for cover, "DO YE THINK YE CAN VISIT SOMETIME SOON?"

Calico Jack simply chuckled at his beloved grandson's enthusiasm, "Aye matey, I'm on a little island a couple of miles from the Octopod. I'll visit just as soon as I find the treasure of the Whiskery Roger."

"Yaaaar!" Kwazii cheered, but paused for a minute, "And just outta curiosity Grandad, what do ye think about all me maties on the Octopod?" Calico Jack went quiet for a minute before answering.

"I like yer Captain. He seems like a nice fellow." Calico Jack mused, "an' he really seems to love his crew. He's a mighty fine Captain in me book."

"Aye," Kwazii grinned, "He's a big fluffy teddy bear, he is." The Captain blushed deeply at the praise.

"Now what to say about me grandson?" Calico Jack asked no one in particular.

"One, he's ugly. Two, he's stupid. And three, he's the reason I have grey hair at 21." Tweak answered in an undertone as Kwazii stuck his tongue out at her and she graciously returned the gesture.

"I think I'm the luckiest grandad in the world." Calico Jack continued with a smile, "Me grandson Kwazii be a clever, good-hearted young lad and a brave pirate and Octonaut. I'm proud to call ye me grandson, matey." Kwazii was paralyzed with joy. His grandfather was proud of him. So what was there left to do but shed a few tears?

"Aww, Kwazii." Peso murmured and hugged his adopted big brother, "Your grandpa loves you. Isn't that great?"

"Aye." Kwazii sniffled and mopped his eyes with his paw, "I'm just a wee bit touched that me grandad loves me so much."

"And about Peso," Calico Jack went on, "He's got the purest heart in the world. There be not a creature he couldn't love."

"Aye." Kwazii cuddled his 'little matey'. "That be true grandad. We got lucky with you, me little buddy."

"Aww," Peso beamed and snuggled into Kwazii, "I love you too, and excuse me for saying, but I believe it's Shellington's turn."

"Ye be right, matey." Calico Jack grew quiet for a second, "I'm not sure what to say about Shellington. He's a smart man, and a mighty fine father if I may add."

"Oh, thank you." Shellington shifted awkwardly in his seat.

"And he's also a know-it-all and can bore anyone to dea-" Kwazii continued with a mischievous grin.

"Oh, shut up." Shellington snapped playfully.

"And what about Dashi?" Kwazii prompted, "She's a bit-" His voice trailed off.

"Yeah, what about Dashi." Tweak growled menacingly, cracking her knuckles, willing to defend her best friend in the world if it came to it.

Calico Jack roared with laughter, "Yarr, Dashi's an sweet, intelligent lass, and what a great mother she be."

"Aww- wait, mother?" Dashi glanced at both Kwazii and his grandfather quizzically, "They're my sisters."

"Wait, how old are ye, matey?" Kwazii asked as Tweak facepalmed.

"I'm 19." Dashi responded.

"Oh, I thought ye were like 29 or something." Kwazii replied, much to Dashi's chagrin, "I don't mean ye look old though." He amended quickly, "I mean ye be mature for yer age."

"That's better." Dashi nodded.

"And Inkling?" Kwazii prompted his grandfather.

"Ahh, that bloke's a genius if you ask this old pirate. He got the world all figured out, which is much more than I can say about meself. But I can't ever understand to save me life, why would you read a whole library of books without pictures that ye reads for fun?"

"Exactly!" Kwazii exclaimed.

"I am flattered." Inkling replied courteously, "But if I may, books without pictures, novels, have a great..." Everyone ran, unwilling to sit through another one of Inkling literature lectures.

"So what about Tweak?" Kwazii finally asked when everyone was coaxed back into the Game Pod.

"She's the best friend in the whole world!" Dashi answered for him.

"Oh, pipe down, it's for me grandad, matey." Kwazii very maturely stuck his tongue out as Dashi chucked a cushion at him, which he artfully dodged.

"Hmm, ooh, this is a hard one." Calico Jack pondered.

"I can help ye if you like." Kwazii offered maliciously. Tweak only scoffed.

"Yarr, Tweak's a right prodigy with all them Gups she's made, but she's SCARY."  Calico Jack added in a whisper.

"Aye," Kwazii whispered back, "That she is."

"So what were we talking about?" Tweak asked cheerfully, getting right up close to grandad and grandson and twitching her long ears with a satisfied (She will never be satisfied) smile. Oh yeah, she heard everything.

"Er, the Vegimals?" Kwazii asked, desperately trying to shift his attention onto someone who wasn't himself for once.

His grandfather chuckled, "The little mateys be adorable, and they be the sweetest galley crew you'll ever find from here to Japan."

"That they be," Kwazii laughed as all the Vegimals attempted to give his grandad hugs over the Octo-watch, "And the kiddies, what about them."

"Ooh, that's a tough one." Calico Jack thought for a minute, "I don't know all the little mateys by name, but all of them be the cutest little buggers I've ever met, and they're a riot. Why, I heard one of the little mateys tell another to get a life when he asked her if she fancied this 'Jane Seymour' lass." Kwazii roared with laughter.

"I've got the best little crew right in front of me, don't I, grandad?" He asked playfully as he scooped up Pinto and began tickling his little pirate pal.

"That ye does, Kwazii." His grandfather answered, "And you've got a mighty fine crew with ye. Yer Captain should be proud."

"Who says he isn't?" Captain Barnacles answered, looking fondly at the Vegimals, who were now attempted a cheerleader pyramid, only to come tumbling down once one of the Vegimals at the bottom waddled away randomly, "All of you make me feel like the luckiest Captain in the world."
