The next morning was. . . Quiet. Serene, almost.

For a start, you didn't wake up to your friends loud chatter beyond the door or the strong smell of cleaning products with blaring music. It was still and silent with the occasional creaking of the walls from the wind, a nice, confusing change.

It took a solid second for you to realize where you were upon noticing the ceiling, tiredly blinking away the sleepiness.

You hadn't remember falling asleep last night, yet made no movement to leave the comforts of the bed as a shiver racked through your body, pulling the blanket closer to your body as possible and curled into a ball.

Taking a deep sigh, you closed your eyes, attempting to sleep a little longer.

"ey." A small voice hissed, a skeletal hand pressed firmly on your cheek.

Subconsciously furrowing your eyebrows, you turned around, pulling the blanket over your head.

"ey!" The irritated tone snapped, a small jab at the base of your spine sent shivers up your back and a startled shout escaped your lips as you shot up - unintentionally covering the culprit underneath the blanket.

Loud muffled curses could be heard as the lump you trapped moved to the edge before finally being able to throw off the covers. His skull a bright angry red as he glared.

"boss said get up." Red grumbled, giving you side glance before jumping off the edge of the bed, disappearing mid-air then reappeared closer to the door, not bothering to look over his shoulders as he ran out of the room and out of view.

Blinking in confusion, you lightly shook your head, rubbing where he promptly jabbed you. There wasn't any blood so you called that a bonus.

Picking up your phone from its charger, you left the chilly bedroom and into the loft, although your attention wasn't on the bitties but your phone.

Several messages from your parents were the norm, it was the messages from Levi that shocked you. Pursing your lips into a thin line, you ignored his messages and clicked on the family group chat.

"HUMAN!" Papyrus called, running out from the kitchen, using his magic to jump up on the couch and look up at you on the loft. "BREAKFAST IS READY!"

After saying your good mornings and greetings, you pocketed the device and quickly followed an excited Papyrus towards the kitchen.

For.. some reason, Sans already looked sick.

Sans appeared over your shoulder, taking a strand of hair and lightly pulled it. "hey... m'bro's cooking.. is.. er.." he trailed, unable to finish the moment you walked into the kitchen.

Eggs were charred. The bacon was crispy and burnt along with the toast - the water was also a brownish colour, you weren't sure if it was safe to drink.

"TAH-DAH!" Both Blue and Papyrus cheered. Edge had his arms crossed but stood nearby, refusing to look in your direction (trying to hide the embarrassed crimson flush.)

"EVERYTHING IS TOO BIG. I WOULD HAVE MADE A BETTER BREAKFAST." Edge hissed, gesturing to the messy kitchen. Two pots were unrecognizable, the spatula they used was melted, the stove was still on along with the murky water from the faucet — it might've been your imagination, but you swore you saw smoke coming from within the oven.

"i..." Sans quickly tugged your hair, using it to hide himself as he shook his head against your neck. Wiping the horrified expression from your face, you strained a smile. "I'm sure it's okay, Edge."

Edge rolled his eyelights then turned to Blue and Papyrus. "I TOLD YOU! HUMANS ARE WEAK."

Furrowing your brows, you took a seat at the table and lightly pushed Edge with your fingers. "Oh shush, I can relate to their determination."
