"What are you doing?! Are your brains made of rice?! I've told you eight times to find her! Go find her already!!" Glitch yelled. He pulled at his curls and attempted to get them to stay out of his eyes. In the end, he gave up.

"You know it might not be their fault."

"Who else's would it be Cassandra?" the boy said with an irritated tone.

A blonde woman draped herself over a chair, "Yours. You're supposed to be our leader, right? Well, wouldn't a leader's abilities and certain limits affect their ability to lead?"

With fury in his eyes, Glitch spun around, "My limits do not affect my abilities as a leader. We would still be in this position even if I was an elemental master!" he screamed.

"Are you sure about that?" A man with a bloody scab on his neck walked in. "If you had elemental powers this wouldn't even be happening."

"Hello baby," the woman, Cassandra, cooed.

The man laughed and walked over to her before kissing her deeply.

Glitch rolled his eyes and gagged.

Cassandra broke the kiss and looked away from her husband, "Oh hush, Glitch. You're just jealous that we have a good relationship and you don't."

With another eye roll, Glitch sat in the chair across from the couple. "I want a full report, Devin."

"I already explained it to you a few nights ago. Cole followed Soar, they fought, Huntress came in, she attacked Soar, she escaped, Soar knocked Cole out, the ninja burst in and left with Soar and Cole." Devin sat down next to his wife, "And I'm right, aren't I? This wouldn't be happening if you had powers."

Glitch scowled, Devin was right, it wouldn't be happening if he had powers. "But I don't, and nothing will change that. But that doesn't mean we're hopeless. We can change other things..."

Cassandra faked a yawn, "Well if you're trying to be dramatic Glitch it's extremely boring." She adjusted the crown on her head and stood, "I'm going to check on our..." she grinned, "projects. See you later, love."

She and her husband kissed again, and she left the room. "She sure is something isn't she," he said with a grin.

"You two look stupid. Can we please focus?"

"We look stupid?" Devin laughed and placed his feet on the table. "We're not the kid trying to take down two giant armies. Both of which have powers, that we do not have-"

"Ok ok, geez."

"And I don't have dumb face faint spots on my face."

Glitch took a deep breath, "They're not dumb. The Glade wears face paint to show their colors and spirit. I have black spots to show my colors and spirit."

"Because you're a black empty void?" Devin leaned back in his chair, "I guess they do make sense then."

"Devin, please, if there isn't anything else to report, you can leave."

The man stood and grunted, "Cassandra and I have made some developments in our work. We've expanded our base but we need something to test on..."

"Well, find something." Glitch shrugged.

"It's not that simple, the way you want this to work, we need to test on live subjects." Devin smiled, "If you know what I mean."

"You make me sick sometimes."

"You hired us."

Glitch looked off to the side and sighed, "I've got a bounty hunter, I'll send him to your base. He'll do whatever you ask, no questions asked, no strings attached."

"Deal. We need time as well. Say four months or so? Once we get the subjects of course."

"Don't come back till it's done." Glitch looked down at his hands as Devin left the room. Part of him felt a sharp pang as he thought of what Cassandra and Devin were doing. But another part was excited to see the new developments. The pity for the test subjects soon evaporated. He grinned, "I'm coming for you Huntress."
