Hoggle quickly caught up to Y/n. She was now walking slower as he joined her. "Hey, why did you say that, about wanting me to be your friend?" he meekly questioned. Y/n glanced down at him and gave him a reassuring smile.

"Even though you have been rude to me at times, I find your help and company soothing. You're here helping me when I need it and that's what good people do." Hoggle seemed surprised by the answer. He felt like his company shouldn't be nice since he was always treated wrongly by other creatures.

Y/n heard a nearby sound that made her head turn quickly. "Did you hear that?" she questioned. Hoggle looked around trying to see if he could hear what she might be hearing. After a second Y/n shook her head, thinking she might've misheard it. "Never mind." she quickly added.

"Hmm, 'friend,' I like that. I ain't never been no one's friend before..." he mumbled. From a good distance, a loud roar stopped them in their tracks. Hoggle quickly went to flee.

"Aaahhh, goodbye!" he yelled. Y/n was quick to grab his arm.

"Wait a minute!" she yelled at him. She looked right into his eyes. "Are you my friend or not?" she questioned him as he tried to struggle out of her grasp.

"No, no I'm not, Hoggle ain't no one's friend, he can look out for himself, like everyone," Hoggle got out of her grasp and push her back lightly "Hoggle is Hoggle's friend." he went running off leaving Y/n behind.

Y/n quickly noticed that his sack of jewels was dropped on the ground. Y/n quickly picked it up, knowing he would be back for them. "You little coward..." she mumbled to herself. Y/n looked back up and started to walk where the sound was coming from. She flinched from the loud yells.

As she rounded the corner, she quickly stopped to see the small goblins covered in armor with creatures stuck on sticks. They were attacking a large beast that was bung upside down by thick ropes. He yelped in pain while the torture sticks bit him.

"I need something and quick," she whispered to herself. Y/n glanced down to the ground when she felt something nudge her foot. It was a large stone, roughly the size of her hand. She picked it up and slowly aimed it before she threw it at a goblin. The stone hit the helmet making it spin around to where it was blind. They dropped the stick and she quickly leaped out to grab it. The other goblins were quick to see her, the human woman, in person. She used the weapon to back them up and away from the beast.

"Stay away before I smack you into next week!" she yelled while sending weak purposefully hits. She ended it by kicking one of their helmets to be backward which caused a reaction of them hitting each other. It all ended with them fleeing away while hitting each other with their weapons and getting lost within the Labyrinth.

The beast moaned in pain while Y/n quickly turned to face him. Once he noticed her and the staff, he tried to move away, afraid that she might harm him like the goblins had been doing to her. Y/n gently put the staff down and raised her hands up while walking forward, trying to show him that she meant no harm.

"Hey, hey, shh. It's okay, I'm going to help you. Don't you want to get down?" she asked him, not wanting to anger or frighten him more than he already is. Y/n tilted her head to try and get a better look at him.

"Ludo, down." he finally spoke, groaning while trying to move in a better position.

Y/n gently smiled at Ludo, trying to show that she was no threat to him. "Is that your name? Are you Ludo?" she questioned him. He slowly nodded, letting out small groans from being upside down.

"Ludo..." he groaned out. Y/n slowly reached her hand out to gently stroke his chin. She felt him lean into her touch.

"You look so kind. Don't worry big guy, I'll help you down." Y/n pulled away and started to walk to the end of the rope that had been tied down to a tree root.
