Author's note: This the poem I submitted to my school's magazine that GOT IN!! I'm just so proud of this poem, it's actually based off of one of my nightmares, hence the name. Enjoy!! Until next time,

RUN!!!!
Run as fast as you can
And don't look back.
Dash through the trees
And fall to your knees.
Get up, don't stop.
To stop even for a breath,
Can mean certain death.
A beast roars, thunder claps
Claws and fangs gleam in a lightning flash.
I'm pinned to the ground, staring at blood-red eyes aglow....
SCREAM!!!!!!
I wake, the rain stops.
My heart calms and my sweat cools.
A dream...nothing more.
I close my eyes as sleep takes me once more.
