Hey lovely roses!!!! I know, exceedingly long ass time since I've done anything on here. I'm sorry, life has been...well, life!! I do hope you guys enjoy this poem :). Until next time (however long that may be),

~Freya~

I hid myself behind a mask
My anger and weakness hidden from the world.
Outside, my face is peaceful, blank
Inside, storms rage, a weak child cowering in the corner as she weeps.
Never letting anyone in, the gates always locked shut.
Then you come along, discovering the face I show to the world is a fake, a mask.
You study the edges, searching for the girl beneath
Until my mask, my shield begins to split, cracks branching out
My weaknesses exposed, vulnerable.
You pry off the mask, pulling the child beneath out of the darkest of storms
Pulling her into the light.
"You...you broke my mask..." I whisper in surprise. "Why?"
You smile, caressing my cheek.
"Because I got to know the incredible girl beneath, and she deserves to be known."
Love shines in your eyes, my worries and fears suddenly banished by your touch
Your lips brush mine, and for the first time, I'm strong, safe with you beside me.
You take my hand, giving me the courage to face the world with confidence and pride.
Walking hand in hand, we leave my former prison in the dust
My disguise, my broken mask.
