Author's note: This poem was inspired by me trying out for the jazz choir at school...and failing yet again. I may not have made it this time, but I'll try again next year!! Like my mom literally just said, "you don't fail until you stop trying." Enjoy!! Until next time,

In life, we fall
We stumble, slip, and slide.
On occasion, things roll smoothly and we become graceful...
But only for a short time before we crash to our knees again.
What's the point?
It's simple, we never learn to walk, to stand properly
If at first we don't crawl, then clumsily bumble about.
Each time we fall, we learn how not to hold ourselves
We learn to try a different way of balancing
And not to throw our weight around.
If you fall, get back up.
Every baby falls when taking their first step.
If they can bounce back up, why can't you?
We all fall, its how we learn.
We just have to act on what we've learned and get back up.
Fall? Get back up.
We all fall, we all stumble.
But the choice to stand back up is yours.
Quit lying there, and get up on your feet.
If you fall, get back up.
