"I did not think you would follow me!"

"Like it or not, you are the reason that I slipped and fell into the water. Now, how do you intend to make up for this, def-Idelis?"

The two walked back to the castle, the prince soaking and slightly muddy. The legs of his previously neatly pleated pants now dragged at his heels, getting caught under his shoes that would certainly require shining after this. He received shocked looks from every castle staff that he passed.

"I am not the one who jumped so hastily that they forgot where to place their foot," the princess refuted, completely dry, hair done perfectly.

Soobin's hair stuck to his forehead in juxtaposition to his usual gentle quiff. It frizzed up as it dried. He attempted to brush it out of his eyes a few times but it just made him look even more messy, so he smoothed it back down to his forehead.

"How could you expect me to watch my betrothed hop over a pond without following after her?" He asked, raising a brow.

"Perhaps you should be more careful next time, my lord," she refuted.

Soobin took a moment to asses his situation and without much thought, he closed the small gap between his side and the princess's side, and he wrapped his arms around her from behind, encircling her waist and lifting her up, spinning her around, much to her displeasure. He held onto her tightly ensuring that she would end up similar to him. The princess squealed as she attempted to evade the grasp of the prince but it was no use, for he had a tight grip on her, and the more she struggled, the more her dress would be ruined.

"Let me down! You'll ruin the dress!" She gasped, feeling the water seep into her clothing.

"I'm simply enjoying a hug with my future wife," he responded, hugging her tighter as she kicked her legs, trying to make him lose his grip.

"You'll pay for this!" She huffed, beginning to wriggle her elbows and kick her legs slightly harder.

"Gladly," Soobin chuckled, letting the princess down from his grip, smiling at her puffed up cheeks and nose crinkled with anger.

  "You are despicable."

  "Only for you."

"Prince Soobin!" Someone called from the door of the castle. "What happened to you!?"

Kai ran from the door, eyes wide with pure shock. His eyes shifted from him, to the princess, and back to him, gesturing at his dirty clothes and unpresentable state.

  "I slipped," the prince shrugged.

"You slipped? I-..." Kai paused for a moment, taking in the situation. "Good afternoon, my lady," he greeted, bowing his head, choosing to ignore the state of the prince for the time being. "I am Kai. A page and a temporary trainer of the royal guard."

"Glad to meet you," she smiled, hoping he didn't see the back of her dress that was now soaked because of the actions of the prince.

"I believe you are well acquainted with my sister. Bahiyyih," he told her, smiling fondly as he mentioned his sister.

"You're Hiyyih's brother," she hummed, making the connection.

"Indeed I am! It is very nice to meet you. I've been told a lot about you, and it seems that rumour of your kindness is very true," he complimented, bowing his head gently.

"Oh, thank you," the princess answered, flustered at the sudden compliment.

"Don't you have things to be doing?" Soobin asked the page, arms crossed over his chest.
