𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐘 𝐘𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐒 𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐑Eir smiled softly to herself at the sight of her brother's in the palace gardens play fighting, with Loki sat to the side observing.
As the years had passed all siblings had grown into their own, with much nurturing from Frigga and Odin in his more distant way. But the young goddess also held a large role in the development of her siblings.
She was a constant, from helping with tutorage to the soft reassurance she constantly gave. From gentle contact, to being a mediator when necessary, to just sitting in the library in quiet moments with Loki, breaking Balder out of his additional heir lessons and taking him on little adventures around the gardens or places she had found, to working with Thor on his combat skills and teaching him to play instruments or how to dance.
Eir loved her siblings openly, and never hid her care.
"Daughter?" Odin's voice broke through the peaceful atmosphere, the blonde turned knowing Loki would be referred to as child with how they were presenting themself that day. "Father," Eir nodded and kept her posture relaxed.
"I have received another betrothal offer," he said and Eir sensed her sibling's approach. Balder and Thor stopping there training to offer support for their sister, and Loki moving from their spot to offer a comfort for Eir.
All knew how against a betrothal arrangement Eir was, wanting to fall in love organically. She had many suitors and pursuits throughout Asgard, but recently Odin had been pushing for a betrothal more and more.
Causing an increase in the already ever-present rift between father and daughter. Especially due to most of the offers being more politically aligned, than for anything else.
"Burn it like the others," she replied harshly. "I have told you multiple times father, whoever I marry will not be dictated or chosen by you if you approve in my choice then that's great. However, I will not let you decide who I wed and if you disapprove whoever I choose then you can sit on your throne and hold your tongue." She bit out harshly, "I am not cattle to be bid on."
Odin scoffed, "Eir" he warned and Balder decided he had enough of the situation and stepped up easily meeting his father's imposing figure without an ounce of fear.
"Father, enough of this nonsense. Eir will not be wed due to a betrothal, you have never been bothered in past yet recently it seems every day you come with another offer," he bites out plucking the offer out of the Allfather's hand and reading it with disgust. "This offer is from someone younger than Loki, stop with this madness and put out a statement that you are not taking offers for any of your children. Not now, not ever. Or I will," the God of Light warns.
The Allfather looked at his oldest son and nodded, heading back into the palace walls. Balder stepped up like the heir he was raised to be, and Odin finally considered the fact that with him feeling weaker as of late it wouldn't be the end of the Realms.
