January 2021

More time passed on. Irene and Alcina grew more close than they had when they first encountered each other. The season changed from autumn to cold winter. Everything had died off and life ceased to exist much in the village. The people would still walk around but barely made any kind of commotion that would attract trouble. Irene was getting used to her new life with her mistress and being like her daughters. Not long before the year ended, the red head made the decision to live her life as an immortal like Alcina and the rest. While that was the decision, Irene now had to learn to live like the way she did. Sustenance was now just blood. That's all she craved. Irene learned to control her hunger until it was a feeding time. The more time had passed between three months ago until now, she was now able to attend meetings that Mother Miranda held with the others. No one knew why she was able to except on the permission that Alcina said Irene could attend.

"You what?"

"I want to be able to live as long as you can, Alcina. I...I don't want to live my life as a human anymore..." Irene told her mistress, getting up from the chair in the parlor room. Her fingers grasped at her dress tightly, hoping Alcina would accept the offer.

"You know what Karl will think of this, right? He'll have my head for—!"

"I don't care what he thinks! This isn't your decision! It's mine! I want this life!" She retorted back and slammed her hands on the table in front of her, face red from frustration.

"He will kill me for doing this to you. It's hard enough living how I do let alone him knowing you're just like me!"

"So he doesn't have to know! He doesn't have to know what goes on between us. It's none of his fucking business—!"

"Watch your mouth little girl..." Alcina sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose while Irene sat back down in the chair. She didn't want Irene to go that route, knowing how painful it was for her. For her daughters. It would be the same for Irene. The struggle for control of her thirst for blood and only continuously needing that for the rest of her immortal life. "You know if you choose this...it won't be easy at first...I can help you learn to control it but it takes time. If you're sure you want this..."

"I'm sure. I don't have anything else to lose. So do it. Make me like you." Irene looked back over at Alcina with serious intentions, the older woman shaking her head.

"Damn it I know I'll regret this..." She muttered to herself, getting up and motioning for Irene to follow along.

Present Day

After one of the meetings with Mother Miranda, Alcina instructed Irene to wait outside the room. The young woman obeyed and left, not knowing she was followed out by Heisenberg. He had noticed her strange fidgeting lately during their meetings and there was only an explanation as to why she acted this way. Just as Irene made the turn to wait where she usually did, Karl caught her by the arm firmly and cornered her just in time.

"Looks like you made your choice, huh?"

Irene stopped and looked back at the man, only enough for him to see her eyes. "What are you talking about?"

"Don't play dumb Irene. You know exactly what I'm talking about. No one gets to come in on the meetings just like that. You had to have done something to earn that right." His eyes bored into Irene's, grip tightening on her arm as if feeling a little threatened. Heisenberg knew alright. He could see the change in her mannerisms and eye color as well. "I also find it unusual that a red head like you has such a recessive trait in her. Don't most gingers have blue or green eyes?"

She jerked her arm away and turned around, facing him with a stern expression. Irene's eyes glared coldly into his, trying to not bare her teeth too soon. He didn't have to know about her change. "What are you getting at...?"

"I'm saying that you didn't have yellow eyes before. Your eyes were blue."

He was sharper than Irene thought. She didn't think anyone else would notice her change. Heisenberg was no dummy. She leaned against the stone wall and looked him over, hoping Alcina wouldn't come through the door just yet.

"You're right. I did have blue eyes. I..." Irene stopped a moment before thinking how she would tell him without causing a commotion. "I decided that I'm not leaving...and that...I didn't want to...be a mortal anymore."

"So you're telling me...that you'd rather be a bloodsucker like Alcina than live the rest of your life fully the way a normal human should? You're damn stupid Irene!" He gritted through the cigar and cornered Irene further, angered by her answer. It was frustrating after all the time he warned her about this path. "Do you know what this means for you?! Possibly you'd never go back to being a normal human being! No normal life of getting old or having your own family!"

"I don't want a normal life anymore! This was my choice. Not hers. Mine...My life was nothing...I came all the way across the world to see places and to have excitement. I know this is far from it but at least now I have someone who actually gives a damn about me..." She looked away and bit on her lip, drawing blood from it before it dripped down the side of her face. Heisenberg took his hand and wiped it away, scoffing while taking a long drag.

"Listen here, Irene. You have more than just Alcina who gives a damn about your well being. Before she never cared. What changed that? Hm? What changed to the point that she cared about what you wanted?! I gave a DAMN about what your well being! And you didn't listen!"

His voice echoed through the corridor. It shook Irene to her core and it took everything for her to not yell back at him. She was sure Alcina already heard them. There was only silence now. He grabbed her face between his fingers, making her look him directly in the eyes so he could make his point more clear.

"I'll be watching you closely, Irene. You won't leave my sight. I'll make sure of that. My offer still stands on getting you out of this place. Until then, watch your back."

He let go and stepped aside to walk down the corridor, leaving out of sight so Irene couldn't see him again. She leaned back against the wall, sighing out and taking a deep breath in before feeling her exhale shake her body. His footsteps echoed until they couldn't be heard anymore. Her body shook from the fear he put into her mind. Irene didn't want to do what she did but there wasn't anything else back home waiting for her. She had no one but Alcina. Now wasn't the time to lose control.

"You're going to have to learn control. You won't be able to survive this if you don't learn how to control your hunger. If I can learn to do it so can you." Alcina told Irene, sitting on the bed as she handed the red head a glass of blood. The very same blood she drank the first night she stayed. She didn't want to take it if that meant she would lose control. It surely wasn't easy. "Go on take it if you can't handle it."

"No...I can do it."

"Are you sure? You don't seem like you can handle it, dearest. There's no shame in showing weakness." She took a bit of the blood on her finger and brushed it against Irene's lips. The smell drove Irene mad. Sweet to her nose. She wouldn't show weakness now that she made it five days without. "I know you want it.~ You had no trouble drinking this the first night here. Why are you hesitating now?"

"Because I don't want to be weak. I want to be able to make it through." Irene pulled back but Alcina was too quick, grabbing her face firmly between her fingers.

"You won't make it if you resist. You wanted this Irene. Now I'll give it to you. You must have decorum. There is a time and a place to have your fill of blood and a time there isn't." Alcina pulled Irene closer to her face, biting on her lip and drawing the fresh blood from it. She licked it off and smirked, stroking the girl's cheek before pulling back a little. "And I will teach you that time and place.~ So be a good girl and behave. You understand me?"
