Thank you guys for all the support and kind words on this story. This is merely a fanfic for fun but I'm so happy you enjoyed reading it! After the epilogue was posted it lasted four days as #1 under the Alcina tag! That made me incredibly happy that I wrote a great story. I couldn't have done this without the support and help of my partners. They helped me continue on with this fanfic and I'm glad I saw it till the end.

There will be more of Irene Smith continuing in two more sequels so please give those a read when they come out! The first sequel that is coming out is Seeing Red which follows Irene in the aftermath of everything that happened. There will still be some mature spots like My New Toy and it will show the in between before A Rose Among Thorns comes out.

Anyway here is a sneak peek of Seeing Red!

"Why are you trusting me?" She asked while her face was in his hand, feeling a bit sad that Chris was the only one to try to befriend her. "Everyone else is afraid of me...They think I'm a monster..."

"Well you did try to attack my men. So there's a reason people think that but I am trying to give you a second chance." Chris motioned for Irene to turn around and she obliged a bit curious, until he began to undo the buckles on the straightjacket. "I want you to be able to go back into society again, Irene. I want you to be able to live."

To Irene, Chris sounded a lot like Heisenberg when he first talked to her the day they both met. Why was it so painful for her to hear those words now? It hurt her every inside to hear them. Where was he now? Right as Chris undid the last buckle, he brushed her hair gently aside and got rid of the object that bound her arms altogether.

"Why?"

"Hm? Because I think anyone deserves a second chance, Irene. Especially someone like you who was trapped under Mother Miranda's hold like that. You're not like them Irene. You're more human than you realize." He watched her stretch her arms. She looked like she felt more free than she had ever been. "Now tell me what happened? Why the bite marks? Why do you show such a recessive trait in eye color when I know red headed people rarely have yellow eyes?"

Irene struggled to answer at first but she gathered her thoughts together in one place. She didn't know where to start so she went with the simplest one to answer. The red head turned to face Chris and took a deep breath before answering his questions.

"The bite marks are...from Alcina Dimitrescu. At first I was her...pet...and she would bite me. The first place was on my wrist. That was just the start of it...and when she...when we got more close she got my neck and the inner part of my thigh. Those were more intimate spots and times she did it. We got closer and...so I asked her to make me like her. Like one of them. I had no one else to go back to here and so I thought why the hell not."

She showed him the marks on her neck and then her wrist. Her leg was last and it was in a more intimate spot. Chris felt bad for this girl. She had went under so much as a slave to the Lords of the village and Mother Miranda. A blood bank for Alcina Dimitrescu. Not to mention being turned into one of them with the mutamycete. He could see it in her face. That would explain her eyes. Her feral behavior. Irene looked back out the window, feeling the coldness on the glass and sighing at the memories she had to leave behind.

"You are so much stronger than I had ever thought, Irene..." Chris moved behind her and she flinched as his hand wrapped around her face to stroke it gently, like Miranda had but more human. He felt safe to Irene. His fingers gently stroked her pale lips, proving to Irene that she could trust him. Her hands held onto his and she smiled more. She felt her heart's beating soothe to a gentle beat. "You are not like them. I trust you. And I want the rest of the BSAA to see that, too. You're worth recruiting. We'll prove it together, Irene. I know you can do it."

"You really think so, Chris? You don't think I'm...dangerous...?" Irene turned around and looked him in the eye, close to tears. He really was the only one who didn't see her like a monster.

"Dangerous? Hardly. At least you can't turn anyone you bite. Your strength? It had my men scared out of their pants. No wonder they knocked you out." He laughed before she hugged him, his hand petting her red hair softly. Irene clutched her fingers onto his black coat, laughing a little as tears streamed down her face. "Even if you have no one else Irene, I'll still be here."

Chris wiped away her tears and Irene held his hand in hers, finally feeling some comfort among the chaos. She never felt this safe back in the village. Nor did she feel this welcome back at home where she lived. It was the first time she ever felt relaxed. Irene sat up straight and smiled at Chris before he stood up to go to the door. "Now until we get to the next examination today, try to get some rest. You'll need it so we can get you back on track. I'll be back for you soon. Everything will be okay, Irene. Don't worry about that."

Chris left Irene in the room, her feeling a little better about her situation than before. The room was quiet again and now all she had to do was rest more before they came back to do some tests. She got up and went back to her bed, laying against the pillow with the covers pulled over. Soon Irene would be back to normal, have a new home, and a new life. It would take time but it will be okay. Just like Chris said it would be. Her eyes closed shut to see nothing but the dark behind her eyelids.

"My my my little one. You're in such a predicament. Poor little Irene. You have no one now. Hehehe.~" Laughed out a familiar voice in her head, making Irene open her eyes quickly before sitting up on her bed.
