The proceedings throughout the night were a blur to Angelina as she drank to her heart's content, laughed in glee, or found everything funny as the alcohol kicked into her system. Daichi took it upon himself to make sure she didn't go overboard, watching her from a distance like a mother hen to its chick.

Alec, on the other hand, had given her as much to drink as he possibly could. To him seeing Daichi struggle gives him satisfaction, a toothy grin plastered across his face at the expression of his friends' disdain.

Leaving the bar was a feet of its own to Daichi as it was a power struggle between him and the intoxicated woman as she held on to the bar counter with an iron grip. She'd slur incoherent nonsense that he'd assumed was her refusal to leave as she had not loosened her mighty grip on the counter.

Sighing he eventually throw her over his shoulder like a sack of produce, biding Alec and the other occupants of the room a good night before making his way to their mood of transportation with a knocked-out Angelina dangling off his shoulder.

He placed her carefully in the back seat of the car and then rounded the other side to begin the grueling ride back to the cabin. A few times he'd glance into the mirror to check up on Angelina. The drive back was silent, cold air pricked his skin forming goose bumps and sending a chill across his arms and down his spine.

After parking he opened the back door carefully taking out the female, positioning her bridal style in his arms, supporting her head and behind her calves then navigating his way up the trek to the cabin in the dark.

" Are we there yet," she mumbled tiredly

She woke slightly dazed laying her head against his chest and listening to his heartbeat as she lazily take in her environment briefly.

" No, not yet," he replied after a short pause.

" We met in college you know....." she trailed off

Daichi wondered if the alcohol taking its toll, or if she was very comfortable with him to start pouring her out to him a complete stranger she recently met. He was leaning toward the former as to him it was a more rational explanation for her already venerable state.

" Who? " he asked confused.

He got no response, but he knew she was awake as her breathing wasn't even like before. Before long he was standing before the cabin door. He softly nudged her slowly lowering her legs to the ground keeping an arm firmly around her waist to keep her balance before opening the door to guide her in.

He guided her to the sofa and laid her down before going to the kitchen to grab her a glass of water to sober her up before going to bed for the night. By the time he made it back to her, her head was resting on the sofa's armrest, barely holding on to consciousness.

" Here drink this " he spoke softly gently pulling her into a sitting position, lowering the glass to her lips.

Slowly drink what was put to her lips, eyes barely open as she pushed the glass away from her. she laid herself across Daichi's right thigh as tears welled up in her eyes before rolling across her cheek dampening the other male's pant. A choked sob escaped past her quivering lips filling the quiet room startling Daichi as he started to worry about the woman laying on his leg, shoulders trembling as she cried.

Hesitantly raising his arm to her shoulder he paused, the palm of his hand hovering over her shoulder, is this okay, I don't want to invade her private matters.

His brows furrowed teeth clenched as he forced his irrelevant conscience to the back of his mind, for now, we've already crossed being professional why does it matter to me now?

Placing his hand on her trembling shoulder he rubbed patterns don't her clothed shoulder with his thump.

' Grandma used to do this to me when I cried ' he pondered,

" He was so sweet and attentive, you could say he was the guy of my dreams ". she suddenly spoke pausing mid-sentence.

" I did everything I could to be by his side, he'd tell how beautiful I was every single day ".

" I was pudding in his hands, and I didn't even realize it "

" It hurts so so much, I gave him so many of my years thinking he was my end, that we were in this together. "

Her words came out raspy and low filled with sorrow. The frown on Daichi's face deepened each time she spoke, remaining silent he gave her the opportunity to vent, to give release to her pent-up emotion.

" All I've ever wanted was a family of my own but even that slipped from my grasp multiple times and he blame me for it, s-something that wasn't under my control. " more tears flowed soaking his pants but he paid no heed to it.

His unoccupied hand clenched into a fist as that sentence slipped from her chapped lips

" I'd watch helplessly as he'd busied himself with other women, I put myself down thinking it was all my fault, I overworked myself to prove I was good enough, he didn't even bat an eye my way like he used to. "

" I kept telling myself it was a faze, that the man I fell in love with is gonna come back and sweep me off my feet all over again, but it didn't happen. "

" I couldn't bring myself to the harsh reality no I refused to accept it, I couldn't bare it, I hated it, I hated him but at the same time I couldn't he was I knew. I built a life around him. "

" I grew to distaste this attachment to him with every fiber of my being, I learned the hard way that these unreciprocated feelings will be my downfall, no matter how much I care for him and longed for him to change. I can't keep watering withered flowers anymore. " she sniffled

" It's okay everything going to be fine soon. " Daichi spoke for the first time, continuing to speak sweet nothings to her to calm her.

She felt a weight lift off her chest, her sobs reduced to sniffles, eyes sore and puffy from crying. She felt drained but content to have vented to someone even if it happened while being intoxicated, it relieved her while it lasted.

" I should have waited a couple of years maybe I could have married you instead," she mumbled as she drifted off to sleep.

His cheeks were dusted pink at her sentence, staring in bewilderment at her sleeping form.
