I don't do parties. I never liked the loud music or everyone getting wasted. I only went because Lydia enjoyed it. Then I met Tyler.
~
"I'm Tyler." The unknown boy sticks out his hand.
I shake it, and I can feel myself blushing. His shirt is tightly fit around his upper body. When he pulls back his hand after, his biceps flex momentarily.
"I'm Isabella, but everyone calls me Izzy." I say brushing my hair behind my ear.
"Well it's nice to meet you Izzy." He shoots me a smile.
As the night progresses we talk more about ourselves. I find out he goes to my school, and that he's on the baseball team.
"How come I've never seen him before?"
"We should do this again sometime. Maybe over dinner?" I can see him blushing.
I giggle and respond with, "Of course."
~
"Ready to party?" Lydia comes in.
She's very uncoordinated; tripping over her heels. I can tell she's tipsy.
"As ready as I'll ever be." I say.
I go over and help her stand up straight.
"Let's go!" She says throwing her hands in the air.

When we get to the club Lydia immediately pulls me into the crowd and we start dancing. It felt good to let loose a little. I wanted to let go more though.
"I'm going to go get a drink." I yell over the music to Lydia.
She doesn't respond, and just gives me a thumbs up.
When I walk over to the bar I see a familiar face.
"Asher?" I say walking over to him.
"Izzy? How are you doing?" He says pulling me into a hug.
"I'm okay. You?"
"It's hard, but I'm working through it." He says.
Asher was Tyler's best friend. He never showed up to the funeral. He said it was because it was too much to lose his best friend. I understood that. It was hard for all of us.
"Can we talk somewhere in private?" He asks.
