He was sitting on the comfortable sofa, typing away in his laptop. It was extremely early in the morning, only 4 am, but it was Siddharth's habit to wake up early and try finishing off most of his work. While everyone was sleeping soundly, he couldn't. He could never sleep soundly, his nightmares never allowed him to. The only times he had a deep and comfortable sleep was only when he was drunk enough to forget about anything in the world. But as of now, he got a call from his best buddy, whom he trusted and valued alot.
*On the call*
Faisu:Hey! Are you free today?“Yeah, I suppose.. I have done almost all the work I had pending. There's nothing left.. Why do you ask though?”
“Jannat has this best friend of hers, who's coming back to India. She was in Germany for a few years, for studies. And now she is returning.. ”
“Yeah so?” asked Siddharth carefully listening to his friend while pouring himself a glass of water.
“So Jannat wants us to pick her bestie from the airport. Because she has to meet the director for a photoshoot. Will you come?”“Hmm.. Sure I'll come. Which airport and timing?” “Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. 10 am. Be ready, I'll pick you up”
with that they ended the call and Siddharth just went to his bedroom to get a hot shower.-
*8:30 am*
Meanwhile, a girl is sitting on a flight reading a novel with earphones tucked in and soothing music playing in her ears. There was half an hour left for the flight to land.
-
Siddharth was laying on his King size bed, watching a random movie that he found on Netflix. Usually he would be busy around this time, caught up with lots of work, but today he didn't have anything to do. He wanted a small break from his busy work schedule from a long time anyways, so he was contented about it.
-
*9:45 am*
The flight had landed exactly at 9 and the girl was now walking out of Starbucks, sipping on her coffee. She waited for a few minutes and then called her best friend, Jannat.“Hey, you said your boyfriend's gonna pick me up. I've never met him, how do I know who he is? Can you send me a pic?”she asked on the call.
“Yea, sure. I have sent a pic, he'll be there around 10 I suppose. And don't worry, I'll meet you soon after I am done meeting the director, so you won't get bored. ”
“Yup, finish your work off quick. Byee"She took a glance at the pic that Jannat sent her and read the rest of the messages too. Her best friend had spammed her with lot's of messages expressing how excited she was to meet her after years. One message also mentioned that her boyfriend's name is Faisu, so she can just avoid any confusions while Faisu picks her up.
-
Siddharth and Faisu arrive at the airport, luckily on time. Faisu waits for the his girlfriend's bestie, while Siddharth is just laying by the door of the car.
-
The girl soon spotted two men getting out of a black Mercedes, one was laying beside the door while the other seemed to be waiting for someone. She immediately recognised him as Faisu and walked up to him.“Hey, I am Jannat's bestfriend. So she sent you to pick me up, Faisu right?” the girl asked in a polite tone, waiting for Faisu's reply. “Yeah! That's me, so a quick intro?”
“Yea, right. Avneet here!Avneet Kaur.”
“Avneet, so was your flight good? We hope we aren't late.. ”
“Yea, it was good. And it's perfectly fine, in fact I was sitting here since the last few minutes only. ” she said while Faisu helped her keep the luggage inside and guided her to the backseat of the car. Siddharth went to the driver's seat and waited for his friend to come and sit beside him. Faisu soon sat inside the car. The ride was a bit long, because of the traffic. Throughout the ride, Faisu and Avneet were having casual conversations on random things. They bonded pretty well, Avneet was a friendly person and Faisu found her as a good friend. They talked about their bond with Jannat, how long Jannat and Faisu have been dating for and how life's been at Germany.
