Thomas Gaines needed to go to the Village. It was shopping day. And Mistress Dresmonda was too busy with Samhain, her familiar.

"Don't be too late, boy", Dresmonda said.

Samhain hissed, as its Mistress grabbed the black colored cat, and held it in her arms. It watched Thomas and was about to scratch him with its sharp, right claws, but he ran away before he could be harmed-again.

Thomas Gaines was happy.

He saw the markets that were full of burly London grocers who yelled their wares. Some smiled at Thomas; some ignored him.

"GET THE FRESH APPLES, PEARS, PUMPKINS, POTATOES...EVERYTHING...£1 EACH! HURRY! ONE DAY ONLY!", the Grocers screamed.

"Can I have everything. I got  £5?", Thomas Gaines asked.

"Aye, young Sir. Fresh today", the overweight Grocer answered. He placed potaoes, pumpkins, (small), pears, apples, and tomatoes in a brown colored basket.

"Thank you, Sir", Thomas said, and he left with a smile on his face.

Ahead, he saw a scared girl.

                      She was crying.

"What's wrong?", asked Thomas. "The black raven attacked me, Sir. Oh, please help me". Madeline Sailsbury answered. She was scared.

"Of course. You're name's Madeline. I've seen you in the Village". Thomas said.

"And you're Thomas Gaines. I've seen you as well. Mother and Father are too busy to look after me. And the raven...Oh, the raven...", Madeline said.

"Look, if there is a dangerous bird around, I'll take care of it...And you, M'Lady". Thomas said.

"Thank you, Sir!", Madeline said, and kissed him.
