Toby's POV:

After the night Margo died, but the news hadn't broke yet, i found Griffin in the hallway of school. "So how did it go with Mars last night?" i asked, as he followed me down the hall. "Mars? oh you mean Margo? (laughs). She just seemed really upset after what happened.. you know. And i was worried, i wanted to stay until she wasn't angry anymore." he started, as i nodded. We turned down another hall, "but like i said, she was just upset. So i apologized about the whole misunderstanding. And told her to get some rest. Then i left. Haven't seen her since then" he said, as i felt worried about her.

I remember thinking i wanted to tell her i didn't lie to her about Cleo and i breaking up at her birthday party. We did break up. We might not have said those words, but who stays in relationship when you're not in love anymore? Griffin walked off to his next class, as i made it into mine. My assign seat was next to Cleo in chemistry, as i took my chair. And glared at her, she looked at me and rolled her eyes. As i looked her knuckles that seemed swollen from last night. As she placed them under the table. "It's pretty messed up what you and Emelie did to Margo last night. Cleo, if you were angry you could of taken it out on me. Not her." i said, as she glared at me in return. "What makes you think i won't?" she asked, as i looked away.

"Besides, it was girl code and you wouldn't understand, not once did you and i ever say we were done. And even if we were, it's still pretty fucked up." Cleo said, as i groaned in annoyance. "Cleo, for fuck's sake! do i have to spell it out for you? i'm not in love with you! what more do you want from me?" i yelled, as Cleo seemed as thought she was afraid. Looking at me with those green eyes, that were peering into the ache of my soul, that kept wondering if Margo was okay. I felt like something was wrong, my eyes traveled past her at Margo's seat behind us. A few rows back, as it was empty. And class had already started. She was never late to a class. Not once.

Before the argument could go on, Mr. Davis yelled at us to quiet down. I sighed hard, as Cleo did the same. Taking out her pencil box, and i grabbed my chemistry book. "Where is she?" i asked, as she shrugged and frowned. "Why should i care or even know?" she asked, as i shook my head. That was when i heard whispering around us, some people were looking at there phones and then gawking at Cleo and me. Others were just talking and pointing. "What is everyone looking at?" i asked, as Cleo looked around. "Maybe some celebrity died.." she said, as my heart sank.

Within a split second, a faculty member spoke over the intercom at the school. "Students and Faculty Members of Scatterson High School, i am sorrowed to say a student of ours, Margo Watson, has been reported dead. By the police, as of 7 am this morning. We assume it was a suicide but the autopsy still needs to be processed. A Vigil will be held for Margo, tomorrow night on the football field. Everyone is to attend. If you or someone you know, knew Margo, the guidance counselor is available at any time of the school day." she says, as the speaker comes to a halt. My heart was pounding, my hands were shaking, i felt like the world had just sunk.

Gravity no longer existed, we no longer orbited the sun anymore. My universe was becoming nothing because the core of my very existence, has just been announced dead. An inexplicable and unbearable urgency to wail. Not cry, not tear up, not bawl. No, WAIL. Was washing over me. "Bitch obviously couldn't take a beating" Cleo said, as i look over to see her not at all phased by this. Or even care enough to be shocked. She just wrote her name on her science paper, and then the date.

There's no way this could have been a suicide, she couldn't have done that, she's Margo Watson. The happiest girl to ever roam the face of the earth. With the brightest smile and positive energy that radiates so much light it could outshine the sun. But then, why would anyone wanna kill her? Suicide wasn't proven yet though, they still needed to run an autopsy. But still. And that's when it hit me. Griffin was the last person to see her alive last night. Before i could think any further, i glared at the clock until class was over. Breaking my pencil, as my anger boiled and coursed through my veins.
