Cleo's POV:
"Cleo Cassidy, do you agree to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, or so help you God?" the person asked, as i raised my right hand and placed my left hand on the bible. "I do" i said, as i felt nervous. But ready, for this to be over with. "Now Cleo, please explain to the court your relationship with Margo Watson" my attorney said, as i nodded. Taking a breath before speaking, to calm my nerves.
"Margo was always carefree, adventurous, outgoing, and even a social butterfly. I could always feel it and sense it when she was around. There was just something about her that always drew you in. That made you want to stay near her. I never knew what it was, but it was intriguing to say the least." i said, as i remembered Margo's second week of sophomore year.
"Hey home school, you coming to the bonfire with us tonight? after school?" i asked, as she turned abruptly, too look at me. It always made me feel insecure, how innocently and effortlessly beautiful she was. Her style was everything, it just sucked that i myself could never pull it off. "Bonfire?" she asked, as she clutched her books in front of her locker. "Yeah, it's this thing we throw in preparation for the basket ball game on Saturday" i said, as Margo rubbed her forehead.
"Oh i don't know, my head is still killing me from the night before, and everything feels so bright and super loud" Margo said, as i chuckled. "Here, drink this" i said, handing her my famous recipe of a Bloody Mary, as she shut her locker and walked down the hall together. Blair and Emelie joined us later in the hall, as we stopped by Toby's locker. He planted a quick kiss on my lips, as i felt Margo look away from us. I followed her gaze, as i noticed her looking at a sign up sheet for the school play across the hall. I grinned, walking over to her ready to brag.
"I signed up as Cheryl Blossom" i said, as the school was doing a re-imagined version of the hit TV show Riverdale. "I don't really feel like i'll need a lot of preparation for this role, since i'm a red head myself, and i see a lot of myself in Cheryl already." i said, as Margo looked at me and smiled. "You would be a great fit for Betty Cooper! i mean honestly, the show literally sucks now. It use to be good, but then was it ever good? i don't even know. Maybe we were all just brain washed into thinking it was because, we grew up with the Archie comics, and had such high expectations going into the show." i said, as Margo shrugs.
"I wouldn't know, i've never seen the show" Margo said, as i gasped. Emelie walked over next to us, "you're not missing out" she said, as i ignored her. "Maybe we should watch it together, so you should totally sign up. Not only would it be a great bonding experience, but you would even better yourself for the role. Plus we all signed up anyways." i said, flipping my hair off my shoulder. "That's because Cleo forced us" Blair says, standing next to Emelie. "She practically shoved the sign up sheet down our throats" Griffin added, as i rolled my eyes.
"Oh my gosh guys, is it honestly that bad that i just want to continue my tradition of being in the school play?" i asked, a bit sarcastically. "Does it have to be every school play?" Blair asked, "to be honest it's fine Cleo, but just don't drag us along with you" Emelie said, as i locked arms with Margo. "Ignore them!" i said, as i pouted at her to sign the sheet. She hesitated looking around my group of friends, as she locked eyes with Toby. Before taking the pen, and signing the sheet. I was thrilled, Toby had already signed up as Archie, Griffin had done so as Jughead, even though he wanted to be Reggie. Emelie was Veronica, and Blair happened to be an extra.
Once we make it to lunch after a couple of classes later, i was going on and on about my previous plays that i was in. "You want to run lines with me after school?" i asked, as she nodded, taking a bite of her pizza. "Wait a minute, have you even acted before? do you have experience?" i asked, as she took a sip of her orange juice, and shook her head. "Since i was homeschooled, i haven't done anything that's considered a school elective or so" Margo said, as i nodded. "Right" i said, as i picked at my salad. "Well, i was apart of the mean girls play for school, and even the Twilight play. I played Cady for mean girls, and Victoria for Twilight." I said, as Emelie laughed.
