....

Ugh....

What....what's happening?

*PSSSSSH*

That was the first sound I heard. It didn't take long until the lid above me slowly started to lift up. Instinctively I shut my eyes even tighter, expecting to feel some sort of blinding light. However, after a few seconds of not feeling any light, I finally attempted to open my eyes. They felt a lot heavier than I expected, wanting to stay closed for just a little longer.

Despite this, I forced them to blink a few times. At first my vision was blurry, and I couldn't even make out my own hand. That problem solved itself within a few seconds, and I could finally see again. I groaned slightly, slowly pushing myself up into a sitting position. I looked around my surroundings, welcomed only by a pitch black room. No one was around; in fact, there didn't seem to be any signs of life, not even bugs.

"....what is this....why..." I looked to my hands, turning them over. I pinched the surface of one, feeling the slight but unmistakenable pain.

"How is this possible? I wasn't suppose to wake up." I thought to myself.

I again glanced around the room, expecting, in fact almost hoping to see who had awoken me from my frozen slumber. But no one was here. I certainly didn't sense anyone's energy. I didn't understand. There's no way this pod could've opened itself. Someone must've let me out right? Unless....

If I was correct, there should still be a computer nearby. I carefully lifted my feet and slung them over the side of the pod. I tested my steadiness and stood up, both surprised and proud to find that they weren't as fragile then expected. I glanced past the pod, and spotted the computer, it's large monitor hanging on the wall. I took a few steps towards it and pressed a few buttons on the keyboard. The monitor turned on, revealing a red flashing notification.

"Warning! Solar flare has struck the station, damaging the power core. Power levels down to 3%. Due to low power levels, all chamber pods shall be opened, unable to provide proper life support." I read aloud.

Ah, so that's what happened. No one opened the pod, it opened itself. I didn't realize there was that kind of protocol in the system. I had expected that if anything happened to the station, I would've just perished. I sighed, looking over to the pod in disappointment. It doesn't seem like I can go back in there. I don't know how to fix the power core, and no one is here to help fix it either. I never imagined my endless slumber would cease like this....so what do I do now?

I glanced back at the computer, and again typed something in. The screen displayed a date and how long the pod had been active.

".....I've been in slumber for 30 years?"

I glanced at my own body, observing it more carefully, using the monitors light as my only flashlight. Despite the rather large amount of time that had passed, my body didn't seem different in the slightest. No wrinkles, or change in length, nothing was different. Not even my hair had grown anymore.

"Strange....*sigh* well, what's there to do now?" I asked myself. I looked to my left, and down a hallway. A door labeled "hangar" was at the end of it. "Just remember, dear, if at all you ever wake up....this shuttle will remain right down there. You'll be able to leave this place, and go out into the cosmos. Maybe even find your family..."

"I guess....that's where I'll start." And so, with not much choice left, I headed straight to the hangar, unsure of what awaited me in this new galaxy....

"Come on, catch me if you can!" Goten chuckled as he flew around the building, with his best friend Trunks not far behind him. The half-Saiyan child smirked, confidence overflowing him.
