Earth's Best Delicacies

Zira's P.O.V.

It's been about 2 or 3 months since Lord Beerus and Whis came to visit Earth. After everything that had happened, both Lord Beerus and Goku agreed not to fight anymore unless they heldback their power, so that they wouldn't destroy our universe. However, that didn't seem to matter, since as soon as Lord Beerus returned to his own world, he's been asleep in one of his deep naps. It surprised me that he could sleep for months on end, but then again I was kinda asleep for 30 years, so I had no reason to judge. 

In any case, by now everyone definitely found out Beerus was a destroyer god, and not just some friendly out of space visitor. Bulma, being afraid he'd feel the need to destroy Earth some day, decided to earn the friendship of Whis, winning him over with many of Earth's best delicacies. This way, if Beerus did feel the urge to hakai our world, Whis could supposedly protect us. Would this work? Who knows? Honestly though, after getting to know Lord Beerus, I wasn't worried about him ever wanting to destroy Earth.

But back to the present, because of this, Whis would visit Earth frequently for many lunch outings with Bulma, who pampered him like royalty. To my surprise, Whis insisted I join them on many of these outings, to which I happily accepted. 

"MMMMMM!! My my, teriyaki chicken is much more delicious than I ever imagined! It provides the perfect amount of salty flavor! Not to mention the texture is just right; not too soft, and not too tough!" Whsi cried, wearing one of the largest grins I'd ever seen. Bulma gave a friendly smile. "I'm glad you enjoyed it! I figured you'd like this place! Only the best for friends, right?" she stated. Her acting seemed a little too fake, but a shrugged and ignored it. I know her intentions were in the right place anyway.

"I truly appreciate you taking me to these fabulous restaurants, Bulma. It's wonderful getting to enjoy all these delicious foods!" Whis said. 

"Yeah, of course! I'm happy to show you even more places! This is just the beginning!" she stated. "I appreciate you allowing me to come as well. It's been nice spending time with both of you." I replied. 

"Well duh, of course you're always welcome to join us! It wouldn't be any fun without you here!" Bulma replied. Unlike the way she spoke to Whis, I could tell the words she spoke towards me were much more genuine, and it made my heart grow warm. I haven't had any friends in so long, it's nice to be wanted.

"Yes, I'm glad you were able to join us as well. Ever since Bulma's party, I've been wanting to get to know you." Whis stated, wiping his mouth with his napkin. I glanced at him curiously, taking a small bite of my chicken. "How come? I mean, it's not that it isn't flattering, but there's nothing particularly interesting about me...."

"Oh, I beg to differ," the angel placed an elbow on the table, resting his cheek on his palm, "As a matter of fact, I believe you're one of the most interesting mortals I've ever met. You hold special quirks that lots of others don't possess; you're modest, you're fearless, and your compassion towards others has no ends. And not to mention, you seem to have come out of nowhere, even among your friends on earth. It makes you appear that much more mysterious."

That's when I felt the heat rush to my cheeks, and I averted my gaze to look down at my food. I don't think I've been complimented quite like that before. And while his words seem genuine, I couldn't help but somewhat deny them in my head. I can't be that interesting, can I....?

"I-I see....well, I appreciate that you see so much in me, even though I don't think I'm all that special." 

"Come on, it's okay to take a compliment. Especially when it's true. Have a bit of self-confidence." Bulma added. Honestly, the only reply I could manage was a small nod.
