The gentle blowing of Blossoms danced around CB as they stood by the cliffside. The new episode must've aired by now... They must all know how terrible she is. They sighed. Looking out to the blue river as the blossoms fell into it. Creating gentle ripples on it. It would be beautiful if CB wasn't so lost in thought. The cliffside across the forest in the hotel was... Different from the cliff on the island. It was subtle but they had their differences. There was more room by the hotels cliffside. With enough room for a car to maybe drive through. The thought of sitting on the roof of a car watching the stars with a special someone was... Appealing. They loved the idea of... Well... Being loved. But it was also scary. They... Hadn't wanted to love since... The Incident.

CB had just turned 10. She believed they had a pretty good life. She had amazing parents. A great older brother and amazing friends. But one of them stood out. The boy who lived next door. Seed. He was the athletic and adventurous type. Always getting his hands dirty in the woods and he absolutely loved bugs. And CB absolutely loved him. They would always explore the woods and go stargazing together. He even taught her how to climb trees with no hands! They would constantly talk about him to her friends. Who could never seem to understand. Her brother, Lighter was always really protective. Whenever Seed came by he would keep a close eye on him. He just wanted to keep his sister safe, of course. One late night she and Seed were nightgazing. She didn't remember what happened besides waking up at his place in his arms. They loved it more than the sun itself. If that moment could've lasted forever she would've love it to. But all good things come to an end eventually.

Oh. It had started raining. The ripples once cause only by blossoms were now caused also by the droplets fluttering into the water. As well as the leaves that fell from trees. They never liked the rain. It... Brought back memories... Painful memories.

"Okay. Are you sure your ready?" "Of course Ma! I can handle this. It's just berry gathering!" It was about to be CBs first time gathering berries. This was considered a big thing in the village they grew up in. And she was ecstatic. "Alright... Remember. Only pick ones you recognize. And for everyone you pick-" "plant one back! I know mom!" Dandelion smiled and placed a kiss on her cheek before wrapping the basket around CBs stem. "Alright than. Be careful okay?" "Alright mom!" CB gleefully ran towards the forest. Prepared to fight whatever came her way.
The woods were huge. And full of all sorts of Berries and critters! She had snuck out a few times. But she never got to truly bask in the beauty. She was picking blueberries when she saw something she had never seen. A deer! She had heard about them. Mostly through seed. She walked up to the creature "Woah..." The deer looked at them causing her to stop. They stared at each other. Before the deer ran off. CB couldn't help but smile. There was so much to see! And she absolutely wanted to see it all. She ran through the woods. Looking at every little critter. When something smacked her in the face! They looked up. It was... Raining. Darn. She had better hurry up and fill the basket. They hurried up. Picking as many berries as possible. Before she knew it they were all done! She smiled as they started skipping towards the village. When she stopped abruptly. What... Was going on...? It smelled funny and... There was fog...? She started become creeped out as they slowly walked towards the village when something caught their eye. Just a glimpse. It was... Fire. She stopped. They couldn't move. She couldn't breath. There was a fire! They started to run back but... The whole village was in flames. The sounds of screams and the smell of burning objects wafted through the forest. It was sickening. But when she looked over she saw... Seed! He leg had gotten stuck under a branch. They ran over. Screaming his name. But in the corner of her eye she saw a tree falling. They tried to run. To get to him before it fell. But right before she could get to him it fell. Right into him. The shards of seed scattered around. They wanted to scream and sob. But she couldn't move. When suddenly a small drop of water hit her face. Snapping them out of their trance and immediately sending them running. They ran out of the forest. Leaving the smell of fire and sounds of screams behind her. Before she collapsed onto the pavement. No one in the village had ever gone that far before... Her legs shaked as they slowly stood up. Looking at the still burning forest. Tears dribbled from her eyes as they started to shake. Everything she knew. Everyone they loved... Was gone... They looked toward the sounds of crying they heard. It was Lighter. His eye dripping into a puddle as he used his functional eye to cry...

He killed them.

They were gone because of him.

He's a monster.

She gasped when lighting struck. Snapping her out of their memories. She had been crying. And had leaned up against a tree. Somewhere amidst their memories. She sighed. This wasn't too irregular. Having memories like that. It hurt. But it was too be expected. When the sounds of a car driving up to the cliffside caught her interest. They looked over and saw a dark green jeep. And out of the passenger seat "CHERRY!" Oh no... Oh god no... They saw the episode. They must've. CB took a steep back. Cookie hopped out of the driver's seat "There you are." CBs stem twitched with mild fear. They felt tears prickled in the corners of her eyes. No- fuck. Don't cry Infront of them! They'll think your guilt tripping them! She was so lost in her own thoughts she didn't notice Chip slowly walk closer. They flinched when Chip set a hand on her stem to try and get theut attention. CB fumbled back "I- I'm sorry! Okay!?" Chip seemed surprised "W... What...?" CB glanced up "T... The Episode that came out... The one about me and Lighter..." Chip paused "Bloss... That came out days ago." ,...What...? "H... Huh?" "Yeah. It came out a while ago." CB looked up and Chip and Cookie "Th... Than why did you 2 come looking for me...?" Cookie flailed their arms up and down. "Cause we were worried ya ding-dong! It's stormin!" CB looked out at the river. She... Hadn't noticed how bad it had gotten. "Oh... Right..." Cookie picked CB up making them yelp from surprise. "Come on! Your gonna catch your death out here." Cookie placed CB in the back of the jeep. She never liked being in cars. Especially people's she wasn't too familiar with. They just sat stiffly the whole was home.

The rest of the day passed by painfully slowly. Especially since CB had, infact, caught a cold. While going through a box of old belongings something caught her interest. It was their basket. The only thing she had left from that night. They let out a sigh. And placed it on her bedside drawer. They stared at it for a while. Memories of her childhood danced in their head. Before she knew it they were on their side. Drifting off to sleep with good memories and, for the first time in a while. without fear.
