Episode 21: Happy Halloween!

"Good morning Contestants and happy Halloween!"

Cappy tilted their head. Er. More his whole body. "Hallowe-? It's mid Octob-"

"H A P P Y   H A L L O W E E N ! ! !"

Everyone was a little caught off guard by Vintages tone. Both when he was more happy and frustrated. They hadn't seen him show any emotion besides sadness for a while. So seeing him happy was a nice change of pace. "With the day of Spooky upon us I came up with the perfect challenge!"
There was a pause

"Which is...?" Cappy looked frustrated.

"Come back at 7!"

The contestants were... Surprised "What!? We came all the way here just for you to tell us to bug off!" "Yep! See you at 7 Contestants!" With grumbles of anger the contestants walked away slowly.

Hours later...

7PM finally came. It was pitch black. Cappy and Lighter we're the first to arrive. Shoving paused the ferns and other greens of the forest only to see Vintage in a vampire costume standing before a HUGE corn maze! Lighter noticed Cappy's eyes fill with stars "Woah! I always wanted to do a corn maze! Hell yeah! Finally a fun challenge!" Lighter smiled at Cappy's almost childlike wonder at the sight of a corn maze. He did a few after his adoption. And he wasn't the biggest fan. But with Cappy it would be different! Milkshake and Nest were the next to arrive. Milkshake raised her hand "Hey... Isn't this unfair...? I mean. I can fly... And Cali can't even se-" "I CAN HEAR YOU!" Everyone flinched at the sound of Caligraphy pen walking into the clearing. But strangely from the wrong direction. "I'M HALF *sniff* BLIND NOT HALF DEAF!" He snarled. Nest perked up "Dear! I didn't see you at all in trj cabin last night. You didn't stay out all night did you? It rained a lot! Plus it was freezing. Do you have a cold...?" "Sheesh. Your not my mom. I'm fi-" "You done?" Everyone's attention averted to Vintage. "Good." Vintage cleared his throat "Listen up! You are the final 5! Take a moment to be proud of that! Now. In the center of the maze is a golden pumpkin! Whoever finds it gets to be safe from this and the next elimination!" Everyone was surprised. It was the first time he had done anything like this! And a bonus like this was HUGE. Especially this far in! "And the last person out loses! Besides that no rules! Have the times of your lives! Alright? Go!" And everyone ran in!

Cappy and Lighter
Lighter had Cappy on his head. Cappy was absolutely having the time of his life. Looking at all the different Halloween aesthetics such as faint fake spiders, pumpkins etc. "Did you not celebrate Halloween at all as a kid...?" Cappy looked down at him "Not really...? The church my family went to claimed it was satanic but my mom and dad didn't care and liked the vibes. But I also couldn't go trick or treating since we couldn't afford costumes. Most of my Halloweens were just watching spooky movies at Bottles house." Lighter felt awful for Cappy. Missing out on such a holiday must've been sad. Cappy looked to him "How about you?" He perked up "Oh-! Halloweens back home were just kinda of a big feast with a bunch of fruit. And at the end they would... Um..." Lighter seemed hesitant "I wanna hear the rest!" "W-Well... Black goats were a symbol of bad luck. So a month or 2 prior they'd hunt one down and fatten it up. And on Halloween they'd... Burn it... alive." Cappy was taken aback by the suddenness of it. Lighter was quick to jump back. "I-I know it was wrong but I couldn't have done much! I was a kid and-!" Cappy chuckled "Hey- I know you didn't come up with a tradition to burn a goat every year. Chill. Besides a fruit feast doesn't sound that bad. Hey! Maybe once we move in together we can do that!" "We're moving in together...?" "I mean, your part of me and Bottles group now! It's us three forever right?" Lighter couldn't help but smile. "Yeah... The three of us..."

Milkshake and Nest:
"I hope Cali is Okay..." "Why should we care?" Nest was taken aback. For someone usually so sweet ever since the last episode Milkshake seemed.oretty salty. "Hmm?" "He tried to sabotage us! If it weren't for him Broom would still be here..." Nest felt sympathy for Milkshake. She considered Broom a friend. And she had considered Cali a friend. "I understand. You don't have to feel guilty for Caligraphy pen. But you should try to put yourself in his shoes. He just lost his sight and was attacked by someone he barely knew. He must've been terrified. Not to mention he doesn't have Doritos with him anymore." Milkshake paused. "I... Never thought of that... It doesn't make up for it." "I know it doesn't." They walked in silence for a little. "Wait... Milkshake..m why don't you... Fly...?" "I'm not a cheatah! I can do this without my flight!" Nest smiled. Milkshake was always so determined. It reminded her of herself when she was younger. "Hey Nest... If you win the money what will you get?" "Oh. I'm not sure. I never thought about it. Honestly I didn't join for the money. I joined to get off the island." "Oh. That makes sense." "What about you?" Milkshake let out a sigh "I'll pay off my Debt." Nest was a little surprised "Your in debt...?" "Yeah! Doctors school ain't cheap." "Oh, I suppose that makes sense." Milkshake clearly had something on her mind. She finally worked up the courage to ask "Hey no offense. But for someone who grew up on an island in the middle of no where you seem pretty... Smart... Why is that?" Nest was surprised at her question "Oh! It's hard to explain I suppose." "You don't have too! I was just curious." "...Hmmm... Where is the center...?"
