After a while, Kirby said that the battery was running low, so we had to make camp. We were arguing on a place for shelter, but luckily Blankie had a solution. In fact, he WAS the solution: he made a tent out of himself. Very clever!
Finally things started to settle down. Kirby was the first to fall asleep (no surprise there after all the hard work he did!) while Radio told us some news stories before we went to sleep. It's depressing how much humans fight with each other. Sometimes I just want to yell, "Why can't you humans just learn to love each other!?!" but of course that would break the unspoken rule.
"That concludes our broadcast day. Goodnight America and all the ships at sea," Radio said as he went to sleep. I said goodnight to Lampy, Toaster, and Blankie, I lay my head on the soft grass, and went to sleep. That is until Lampy said something. Lampy was wondering why Toaster was being so nice to Blankie so suddenly. Toaster was having a tough time trying to explain (and I'm still not sure what he meant with the bread thing.) but when he mentioned a glow, it looked like he got through to Lampy. Then he told about the story on when his bulb burned out the first time. I wasn't even bought at that time, so I thought it was really interesting.
I never really got a chance to know our master before he disappeared, so it was nice to hear Lampy talk about him. I wished I had memories like that, but I knew I would soon once we found the master. Then we all went to sleep.
I started dreaming.
It was all dark at first, but then I saw a light up ahead. It was a nice warm glow in the distance and I moved (or hopped really) toward it. When I finally got there, I realized it was Lampy. He smiled at me and said he was glad to see me. I told him I was happy to see him too. We just stood there, staring into each others eyes. No words were needed.
Actually, I've had this dream many times before. It always made me feel good inside. I wished it could've been real, but I always enjoyed the moment in my imagination.
But suddenly something weird happened. It started to get really bright all around us. It wasn't Lampy's light; it had a pale, sickly glow to it. We looked up, and there was something falling down from the sky. I couldn't make out what it was until it got closer, and closer. Then we saw it was a big, white ball of fire! I was so scared I was frozen stiff; my body wouldn't move!
"Oh no! We're done for!" I thought to myself. Then Lampy pushed me out of harms way, but he got struck by the fire!
"LAMPY!!!" I screamed. I just sat there seeing him there burning and disintegrating before my eyes and then everything was as dark as before, but it felt even more ominous now. I started crying hard, but then I felt something scratch me, then another one. Then something grabbed me, then another, then another! Suddenly I felt a whole bunch of cold slimy hands grabbing and pulling at me!
"Ha ha! You're all alone now! No one can save you now!" they jeered, whatever they were.
"Help!" I screamed, even though I knew there was no one but those things that were attacking me. I thought it was going to be the end of me.
