CHAPTER 5 - ALL HAIL THE KING..
Meanwhile, in Kraghon, the soldiers and knights arrive home from the Holy Stones' land. All the civilians ran out of their houses excitedly, expecting to see their king, Eros. Flags were made, paintings and the sort, to give to Eros as a celebration. Instead, what they were greeted with was the depressed look on their soldier's faces, and a cart which King Eros would ride in, but without the king inside of it.
Later that day, they announced the news of King Eros' death. They told the people Naphtali, their prince, and next in line for the throne, would not be able to take it, as he had become a Holy Stone. As such, next in line for the throne was Naphtali's sister, Cecilia. Cecilia stood up on the balcony of the castle and shouted to her people her unfortunate news.
"My kingdom.. my brother is someone we all loved and cherished. It will be painful for us to attack him in any way possible. But we must also protect our kingdom. That's why.. I will not be your Queen." The people gasped. "We need someone who knew Naphtali more than anyone.. better than anyone. Someone who knows the cost of this but will do it anyway. Now, on this day, I coronate.." Eden's eyes lit up. She was excited to be the Queen she dreamed of being since the day she met Naphtali.
".. King Faolan!" The kingdom stayed silent for 5 seconds.. and then an explosion of cheer happened as the newly-crowned King walked up to the balcony. He took a deep breath in and exclaimed. "MY PEOPLE! I know this battle will be hard for all of us. Naphtali meant something to all of us. Especially me. He was my best friend. I really do not want to do this.. But we must! For our people! Our kingdom! FOR KRAGHON!" He sighed, as he never thought he'd have to say that. His assistant walked up next to him."ALL HAIL THE KING FAOLAN!"
After the ceremony, Faolan walked back to the seating area of the castle to sit down and think. Did he have the strength to do this? His only magic was making people dream.. He can't kill the Holy Stones with this. He heard footsteps going his way. He looked up to see Eden and Cecilia. "Oh.. good evening." It was noon. He had lost all sense of time. The two girls sat down next to him. "We can do this." Eden said, calmly. "The three of us were the closest people to him, there's no reason we wouldn't be able to. We know his weaknesses. We-" She was quickly interrupted by a soldier running into the castle. "SIR!! SIIIIR!" He shouted toward Faolan. "What is it?" "THE.." He took a deep breath and sighed. "The Holy Stone empire are on their way here. They're currently at the Bridge of Krilia." He looked up at the king. "Our soldiers are stationed there.. that leaves 2 more soldier stations from there to our kingdom. At this momentum.. I'd give us about 3 more days before they attack our kingdom. Thank you, soldier." He smiled at the soldier. The soldier blushed and saluted. "SIR!" Before running out of the castle, he had no further information.
"What are your powers, dear Faolan?" Cecilia asked. "My powers.. dreaming. I put people to sleep as soon as I use it. I can decide if I want to give them a good, or a bad dream. Sometimes, a good dream can give people a change of mind. A bad one, such as falling off a cliff or bridge.. will kill them. Anything that happens in the dream will happen to their body out of the dream. I call it, "Dream mode" or "Nightmare mode"". Cecilia put her hand up to her chin. Nightmare powers..
Eden gasped. "I know someone who had those powers." She helped Faolan up. "Come on, let's get to their cavern and recruit them." She started running. "Who?!" Faolan shouted. "Oh, yknow, the old ruler! The creator of a religion!" She giggled. Faolan's eyes widened. "No.. no way. Are we recruiting him? Is it.."
AT THE SAME TIME, KRILIA BRIDGE..
"HAAA!" Shouted Rem. Rem was a Holy Stone with black powers, which some people named "Dark Magic". "Naphtali, this way!" She called Naphtali over by her side. "I'll empower you with my Dark Magic, and you send it FLYING their way with your beam powers. Understood?" She patted his back. "Yes, miss." He sent the beam toward the Kraghonian soldier's way. It hit many of them, being immediate death when it happened.
"I'd estimate there being around 300 more soldiers on their side before we're able to cross the bridge." In the back, one of the Holy Stones was known as Euryale. Euryale had red powers, and was able to calculate any mathematical estimate or sum without needing to think for even 5 seconds. Many considered her a super-genius. "Our chances at winning this are a 90 to 10. Our side." "AND OUR CHANCE OF LEAVING WITHOUT CASUALTIES?!" Screamed Akuji, the final Holy Stone. ".. I'm not sure. I can't calculate that." She looked away from the soldiers. Everyone on their side knew she was lying. She could calculate everything. Someone was going to die. "SOLDIERS! HOLY STONES! DEFEND NAPHTALI WITH YOUR LIFE!" Exclaimed Lilith, the leader of the rebellion, and a far descendent of Ahriman. "There won't be anyone to defend after I'm done." Ruthven confidently ran at the army, jumped up and hit the ground. This made the bridge rumble and crack, as lava was poured out of the cracks. This was Ruthven's power. People say she's the most powerful Holy Stone. At the end of the crowd was..
Naphtali ran ahead toward the front of the rebellion. "No.. WHY ARE YOU HERE?! CAN'T YOU SEE I WANT YOU TO LEAVE ME ALONE, EDEN?!" Eden stood in front of him. She ran up to him and hugged him. "I WANT TO JOIN YOUR REBELLION!" She shouted. ".. I see the calculations of her telling the truth to be 93%." Euryale stated, confidently. It didn't take much for the Holy Stones to accept her and move on to the next location. While they were halfway, they noticed a massive town, bigger than they had ever seen before. They decided to celebrate the new member by staying there for a day.
"Come on, Naph, let's have some fun in this town!" Ruthven said, riding on her horse toward the town. "You too, Eden!" She grinned. Naphtali still didn't trust her. Everyone else did. Anyway, this was going to be a day of fun. He couldn't let this bother him. This was going to be a break from the war.
