Chapter 3

As Robyn's alarm went off she shut it up and pulled the blankets over her head

Robyn never stayed off school for no reason, a very good reason at that. Her mom knew something was wrong when she didn't hear loud morning music coming from Robyn's room.

"Robyn?" Her mom called out for her as she walked into her room

"Mom, I don't feel so good." Robyn managed to whine out a lie, but honestly she just didn't feel like going to school and thought it was best to lie herself out of being dragged there.

"What's wrong dear? You look terrible!"

"Uhm I don't know. I'm feeling dizzy and I have a major headache, since last night!"

She managed to look at her mom with a forced pale facial expression and noticed how her mom was viciously tapping on her screen.

"No mom. Don't worry, I'll survive the day, you don't have to take the day off." She quickly reassured her mom

"Are you sure?"

"Yes mom."

"Okay. Call if you need anything. " her mom said as she dashed off

Robyn either went to school with her mom or she walked ... it all depended on the situation of the day .... sometimes she even went with Michelle and her mom or visa versa ...

Michelle and Robyn's moms were just as close as their daughters were, they just saw each other much less. Of cause this all started back in grade 8 when Michelle and Robyn started being friends, they would always meet up at the mall on Saturdays, even though they live just a street away from each other. They even invited one another to every family gathering whether it was a birthday braai or a funeral.

Robyn's phone beeped as she sat up in her bed trying to figure out what she would do for the next few hours

Whhhhyyy?

It was a text from Michelle

Because I am sick :(

*BEEP*
And my dog died! - Michelle was replying faster than usual

LOL you don't have a dog, Silly!

*BEEP*
And you ARE NOT sick Robyn! :|

That was a reminder to Robyn that she had a best friend who knew her too well

*BEEP*
A whole day without my best friend! Great! Keagan and Kevin are going to like this!

All these beeps were getting annoying so Robyn put her phone on silent and replied to her best friend

They will indeed!

Okay. Greet the boys for me ! Robyn was starting to really miss talking to Kevin

Robyn put her phone back on loud as she threw it on the bed and headed to the kitchen to make breakfast. She wasn't expecting any calls or texts from anyone either than her mom and Michelle

So when she heard the next beep she just ignored it until an hour later when she went to get a blanket so she can laze on the couch with a cup of coffee and the remote in her hand. She grabbed her phone as well and decided she'll just reply to who ever it was when she's settled on the couch.
