She woke up to a beep coming from her phone. When she checked the time it was 02:41, as her eyes struggled to adjust to the phone light she rubbed them a little and finally read the text
"It wasn't supposed to happen like this. I love you Robyn."
It was from that jerk she called her boyfriend, Kevin.
As she repeatedly read the text her eyes started to fill with tears again, she wasn't prepared to argue with Kevin all over again, so she ignored the text and pulled the blankets over her head and struggled her way back to sleep

"Robyn!"
She heard a familiar voice shout for her as she was about enter the school gates. It was her best friend Michelle
"Hey 'Chelle"They continued as they walked together to their class..
"Oh My! You look like you've been dragged out of seriously dark pits of hell! What's wrong? " Michelle asked she noticed Robyn's puffy eyes and her unusual simple ponytail.
Robyn never looked so dull, she usually had her hair in different hairstyle and her face was always glowing.
"Agh! It's a complicated story. Let's just say this weekend didn't go as well as I thought it would have."
"What happened? Did Kevin ditch your plans for his lousy soccer night with his friends again? I mean you had it all planned out! How could he be so stupid?! When I see him I swear I'm going to knock that stupid ego out of him!"
Robyn giggled at the thought of Kevin being slapped silly by her best friend
"No, that's not what happened. Friday night was awesome, we went out for movies and dinner as planned. He was actually sweeter than usual. And Saturday we went for a picnic at noon at the lake near his house..."
Robyn paused as her smile started to fade
"And then what? Why did you stop? Robyn what happened? "Michelle was so eager to hear the rest of the story
"Later that afternoon..." Robyn continued "we went to his house and we were chilling outside by the pool and he went to go get snacks inside the house and he left his phone with me and-"
"And what? Robyn!"
"There he is! Hide me! I'm not prepared to talk to him" Robyn noticed Kevin approaching them and she hoped she could avoid him for the day, week , the whole month even.
"But you're not done Robyn. I need to know what happened." Michelle wanted the latest scoop on her favourite couple's date weekend, she had been waiting all weekend for the update and the suspense was killing her.
"Hey 'Chelle. Hey Robbie"
Robyn turned around to the familiar deep and husky voice of her long term boyfriend who was looking extra handsome today, his dark hair made his gorgeous blue eyes sparkle, even in uniform he looked ravishing.
"Hi Kevy Kev." Michelle always greeted him the same way every morning and Robyn usually giggled whenever she heard her best friend greet her boyfriend like that cause before they dated that's what they used to call him. It was his code name. Not quite hard to figure out but the name was never used unless they were talking amongst themselves
"Hi." Robyn replied as she avoided eye contact with the love of her life
"Hi? Did I miss something here? What happened? " obviously that was Michelle and her big mouth yet naiive mind
"Uhm Robyn can we please talk?" Kevin asked as he turned to Robyn and ignoring Michelle
"Kevin. I have nothing to say to you. Please let me have my space."Robyn said as she looked down pulling the sleeves of her jersey down
"Nah-uh! I dont like this vibe. Robyn you and your guy must talk, I'll be by the classroom." Michelle walked away
"Robyn... I'm sorry.." Kevin thought this was the best way to start this off
"For what?" Robyn asked coldly
"You know?! Ruining our date weekend.."
Robyn ignored the expression of regret on his face "For ruining our date weekend? Is that all you think you ruined ? What about breaking my heart? Making me some kind of fool? Do you even realise that this goes way beyond ruining our stupid date night?" Robyn stopped herself from continuing because she realised her voice was half raised and a few people were starting to glance at the couple as they wondered what was the argument about
"Robyn!" Kevin called her in what could be mistaken for a whisper "I know I messed up, but I'm willing to make it up to you."
"You're just saying what you think will soften me up. It won't work!"
"No, its not like that. You have to understand it, she isn't my -" Kevin stopped as he realised she was walking away and the bell had just rang...
