After driving through the rather quiet streets of Los Angeles this early afternoon, the small group find themselves in what everyone calls the Uncanny Valley. A neighborhood where many Toons ended up whose animation had been described as disturbing. Many 3D Toons with unrealistic appearances, so-called adult Toons with very little modesty or even some hybrid Toons with strange appearances.

As the police wait with Fawn in the deer's car, the Rangers are in their plane, posing on the roof of the vehicle, observing the surroundings.
« Why do we have to meet him here? » Bonkers asks.
« Because even if Powell surprised me, he would never follow me here. » Fawn answer. « He hates this neighborhood. »
« I can understand why... » Miranda mumbles, rather uncomfortably when she sees blank-eyed figures passing on the sidewalks beyond.
« They aren't mean when you know them. » the little nurse affirms before her phone rings.
She takes it and sees the message "All clear" displayed.
« I go! Stay there, I'll come back for you as soon as I've clarified the situation. » she said, getting out of her car.

« Scream if you have any trouble! » Ellie recommends but the doe smiles at her:
« I am safer here than at the clinic. »

With a calm step, Fawn walks away down the street and into a darker alley where a hooded figure joins her. Under the intrigued gaze of her friends, she begins to speak to him calmly... but when she shows the car, the stranger seems to be irritated by the grand gestures he is making.
« She's going to have problems! » Bonkers is alarmed but Miranda puts her hand on his shoulder.
« Calm down. I'm sure she knows what she's doing. » she smiles, especially since indeed, the little deer seems to manage to calm her interlocutor.
They talk for a few more moments...then the stranger seems abandoned and walks away down the street as Fawn walks back to the car.
« What is happening? » Chip worries when she finally gets close enough but she smiles:
« Come! He agrees to talk to you! »
« What did you tell him? » Ellie wonders.
« I told him this was his chance to surpass Powell. » the doe simply smiles before guiding them down the alley.
