Note: This chapter will be a memory in the form of a dream. Yvette's POVs will not be part of the dream. Also, for overthinkers (don't worry, I'm one, too), the plot will be a bit different from the show, such as Mori having another reason why he didn't have intentions of hunting Dazai down after he left the Mafia.

We explored in around the trees, trying to find a way out. Then, I heard gunshots being fired. 'Maybe it could lead us to a city or at least a town,' I thought while walking towards the sound.
"We should follow the gunshots; maybe it'll lead us into a town."
A few years prior, a lady found me and offered me some help. So I asked to be her friend, and she ended up complying. But, instead of a friend, she became more of a mother. She said she'd help me find my family, but I hadn't heard from her since what had happened.
The sound gradually got louder. Good.
"Wait here," She said sternly.
"Why?"
"Trust me; I know what I'm saying." I had never heard her voice that serious in all the years I had known her.
"O-ok," I had felt the only choice was to comply.
"Good. I will come back for you when I deem the area safe." With that, she left me waiting for what felt like an eternity. I counted the gunshots but lost count when they started coming in quickly. It sounded like more than one person was shooting. Suddenly it stopped.
Yvette's POV
I realized where we were. I knew what was happening. It was a gunfight between two people I knew. One I dearly loved, and the other, he worked under a person I deeply cared about.
Dazai had told me what had happened and what Oda's plans were. Dazai never knew of my ability.
But it was too late; they were both dead, and everyone there was dead. Only four, soon to be three, human souls there were alive. So I waited, knowing that it would cause more problems with them.
"Be on the side that saves people. If both sides are the same, become a good man. Save the weak and protect the orphans. Neither good nor evil means much to you, I know. But that'd make you at least a little bit better."
"How do you know that!?"
"Of course, I know. I know better than anyone. Because...I am your friend."
The man beside him stood up after a couple of minutes and left. I went entered the room and mourned the death of Andre.
y/n's POV
The sun was on the brink of disappearing. Yvette came to get me as promised and led me into the building. There was no town. As we got closer, a terrible scene met my eyes. Dead bodies were scattered everywhere, and there were rivers of blood. We set foot into a giant room. There were only two bodies.
"Why'd you bring me here?" I did not mean to be rude.
"One day, you'll meet a man and remember this. It won't happen instantly, but it will happen. Your questions will be answered, but that doesn't mean life will still be completed. Problems will present themselves, and you must be strong in life. It's not how many hits you can take before falling; it's if you can get back up after each hit."
I never knew what she meant. How will this answer my questions? When will it be answered? How does this relate to my life?
"This man, OdaSaku, was part of the Port Mafia. However, he never killed anyone until now."
"Wow, that's a lot of people to kill."
"Yes, but that's not the point."
She explained further what Andre did to Oda's children, and that event led to this gunfight.
"Andre. He was my brother. Even though he did this behind me, I still love him."
"So why won't you bring him back to life?"
"I told you, I love him, so I'll respect his wishes of dying. But, unfortunately, he had a death wish. I won't bring him back to live miserably, and even if I tried, he'd still find a way for someone to kill him. It wouldn't be any better; he convinced people to beg for someone to kill him, and he would continue. He was stubborn."
A sorrowful silence plagued the room. I didn't know what to say. I hadn't realized we both had been crying. I always cry when someone's crying.
Never look at a stranger and think they don't have problems because they do.
Yvette ambles toward Oda. "Awaken, your story does not end here." She activates her ability. A couple of seconds pass, and he sits up slowly—the man grunts in pain as more blood comes out. I got startled; it was like Yvette knew why I jumped suddenly.
"y/n, I can resurrect people, not heal them. Come, he needs help."
It was dark, and we needed to get to a hospital stat. So Oda told us the way to the Mafia. It was risky, but it was the closest place that could help Oda. Once we got there, Yvette told me to wait inside a shop near the PM. Again, it felt like an eternity.
Yvette's POV
"How did you find him?"
"Dazai told me."
"Why did you bring him back to life?"
"Mori, one day this will make sense; just wait."
"Ah, you are just like Dazai."
"Mori, listen to me. Let him live out his dream."
"And why would I do that?"
"Because; you never lived out your dream."
"I don't grant wishes."
"Please, do it for me."
"Fine. He is no longer useful to the Mafia; the man refuses to kill anyone."
"Thank you. Oh, and one last thing."
"Yes?"
"I will leave for a while to take y/n back to America."
"And why would you do that?"
I had recently convinced Mori, my best friend, to let y/n be and that she would genuinely hate herself and kill herself in a short time if she were part of the Mafia.
"Have my plans ever gone wrong?"
"We'll keep in contact, correct?"
"Yes. I plan to."
I went back to fetch y/n out of the shop. I told y/n we'd go to America in two weeks. I resurrected the orphans and the man who took care of them. We left after we knew they were safe. Mori helped give him money to keep going while Oda worked on writing his novels and working in the shop. I also told everyone to keep what happened during the week under wraps. It's all going to plan; but again, I am simply the writer of this story.

Hello Everyone!
Ok, now I'm conflicted after this chapter, I don't know how to end the story (don't worry I'm not ending it anytime soon. I have different ways to end this story: I have a good ending, a bad ending, and a bunch of bad/good endings.
Anyways, I was having writer's block until I stumbled upon this: https://archiveofourown.org/works/38239003 I know that it's for an entire story but the idea of Oda, orphans, and the curry dude still being alive gave me a rush of inspiration. So, I decided to incorporate it into this story. I do not own nor did I come up with the idea.
