Take 2

House Tour

I'm sorry I went MIA after just barely restarting this story, but I went into a sort of depressive episode where I could barely force myself to go to work, much less anything that requires brainpower outside of work hours. Not to mention SEVERE case of writer's block in the rare moments I had motivation to write. I'm coming out of it though, so hopefully I'll be able to get back into it and get it going!

Also my birthday's on Tuesday, so that's exciting. 

The video opens to Peter and MJ standing in front of a black front door.

"Hey guys, welcome back to the Ironfam!" Peter says brightly, filming selfie-style. "Sorry we missed posting the last few weeks, but we were super busy moving out of the Tower and various other homes, and wanted to wait to post this video until we were all the way moved in."

"Moving sucks less when you have two super soldiers, a hyperactive spider kid, several geniuses, a super spy, and a woman who can literally move things with her mind," MJ comments.

"Well that's a given," Peter rolls his eyes. "Wanda could have done it by herself without ever moving from the couch."

"Not that we made her do that," MJ says. "Everyone pitched in."

{cut}

The couple are standing inside a small front hallway now.

"We're going to give you a tour of our decorated house, minus the spaces that aren't finished yet!" Peter declares.

"Oh, we never told them," MJ glances at Peter, before turning back to the camera. "So we said we were apartment hunting but we actually bought a townhouse, because it just fit everything we needed better."

{cut}

"So this is the front hallway," MJ says, gesturing to their surroundings. "It's fairly small, but we're gonna put in some coat racks and shoe racks because I refuse to just have everything lying around the whole house."

"MJ and Kenzie are gonna be the ones that keep our **** together," Peter comments. "The rest of us could live in a pigsty and never even notice."

MJ rolls her eyes.

{cut}

"Right off the entry we've got the den," Peter turns the camera to show a large archway into a cozy room. "We've got these couches and some chairs, we were going for kinda cozy vibes. Just a fun place to hang out."

"We put that piano over there," MJ points over to an off-white grand piano in the corner. "Em and I already play, and Peter's been talking about wanting to learn so we figured why not?"

"This wall," Peter gestures to a blank wall behind one of the couches, "Is gonna be our photo wall. We've got a bunch of pictures picked out, and of course we're gonna take some new ones and everything."

{cut}

"There's a bathroom here," MJ gestures at a door off the hallway leading from the entry and den. "We're not gonna show you that cuz that would be boring. In here is the living room, a bit more formal than the den."

"So the living room," Peter pans over the room. "Has some neater couches, and the tv. And there's that foosball table in the windows, and the ping-pong table on that wall."

Above the ping pong table is a large mural of what looks like a cherry branch.

"MJ actually painted that," Peter zooms in on the mural. "There's a bunch of paintings like that on the walls, ones MJ worked on for actually a really long time."

"I wasn't going to hang them up but Peter found them and insisted," MJ rolls her eyes.

"Of course I did, you're amazing," Peter says.

{cut}

"So now we're downstairs technically, because this house is built on a hill so the front door opens on the second floor, but the backyard is down here," MJ explains. "So down here we've got the kitchen, dining room, and a bathroom."

{cut}

"So this is the dining room," Peter says, panning the camera around the room. "It came with that bar thing over there, and then we got a table, chairs, and barstools that matched the bar."

"Kenzie picked out this rug," MJ nudges the pale blue rug under the table. "It's her favorite color, and it looks really nice with the furniture and walls."

"More of MJ's art," Peter pans around the walls. "Isn't she just amazing."

{cut}

"This is the kitchen," MJ says. "We haven't really put many personal touches in here yet, but eventually we want a smaller, more informal table for, like, breakfast and things."

{cut}

"There's a basement below the kitchen level," Peter says. "We haven't done much down there yet, but we're thinking like a rec area? Maybe some gym equipment, maybe some games, we're not really sure. Which is why we haven't done much, so won't be showing it because it's basically empty."

"That is where the laundry room is though," MJ adds.

"We're up on the third floor now, which has MJ and I's room in it," Peter says. "There's five bedrooms in this house, one being the master suite that has a whole level. That's where MJ and I are, even though we would have been fine in one of the normal rooms."

"But considering Peter's dad paid for this house, everyone insisted that it was only fair he, and by association, I, got the best room," MJ rolls her eyes. "They all insisted, we basically had no say in which room was ours."

"We're not going to show you the inside of our rooms, partly because we haven't finished them yet and partly because it's just sort of our little place that we don't really want to share with the world," Peter says.

"There's also a rooftop balcony thing, that we're thinking of putting a garden in but haven't yet, so it's also just empty," MJ shrugs. "So actually most of the house isn't in this video, but that's fine."

{cut}

They're outside now, on a patio.

"This is the backyard," Peter says. "It's mostly just a little patio space, considering we are in New York and nobody has much, if any, of a yard around here. But we're probably going to put a table or something out here, maybe some planter boxes because Ned and Emma like gardening."

{cut}

"So that's the house," MJ shrugs. "Sorry it's shorter than we intended, but since we're mostly not finished with the house there actually wasn't a whole lot to show you."

"One of the extra bedrooms is a filming room, too," Peter adds. "But it's basically just a blank wall with the cameras and a table for the challenge videos, and we're not sure how often we're actually going to be using it because a lot of our videos are either in the kitchen or out and about, depending on what we're doing."

"Anyway, we're going to end this video here," MJ says. "Like and subscribe to join the Ironfam if you want to see more of... this. See you guys next week, bye!"
