Puppy Time

Link to pictures of Lily and Maddie. Yes I am shamelessly using my own dogs for my stories, I regret nothing.

The video opens to Peter and MJ sitting in a car. MJ is filming in the passenger seat, while Peter drives.

"Hey guys, welcome back to the Ironfam!" MJ says. "Today Peter and I are making a decision I'm sure we'll regret, but also be really happy we made."

"We're getting puppies!" Peter exclaims, glancing at the camera with a wide smile before returning his attention to the road.

"Yes," MJ laughs. "We're on our way to meet some puppies, and probably bring one or two home!"

{cut}

"So if you've been a member of the Ironfam for a while, you'll know I technically have a dog and a cat already," Peter says. "I got Lady for winning a challenge against Dad, and Chloe was a birthday gift. Those two will always be my babies and I love them dearly. But when I moved out, Morgan was devastated at the idea of them leaving with me, so I let them stay at the Tower. I visit them all the time, but I've really missed having animals in the house."

"And I've always wanted pets, but my mom's allergic to cats and my dad hates dogs," MJ adds. "So we've been talking about it and decided we want to get a dog!"

"The problem being we can't decide what kind of dog we want," Peter says. "We both have a different kind we really want, so we're going to meet breeders of both kinds and see if one of us changes our mind, or if we're just gonna get two."

"Yes, we did talk to Ned, Emma, Harley, and Mackenzie," MJ says. "They're all completely fine with one or two dogs coming to join us, as long as they sleep in our room."

"I don't think we're going to film at the breeders," Peter says. "They're both aware of who we are and were heavily hinting that they're uncomfortable with us filming. Which, fair, considering we're going to their homes."

"We're almost to the first one," MJ says. "We'll check back with you once we're done, see if we got one dog, two dog, or no dog."

"Oh, we're getting dog," Peter mutters. "The question is how much dog, not if dog."

MJ snorts.

MJ is fiddling with the camera, apparently unaware it's filming. She appears to be sitting on the floor of the car, the backseats folded down to create a large open space in the back.

"Engaging in some mildly illegal behavior here," MJ says, still fiddling with the camera. Her attention is clearly split - she continuously looks away from the camera and back again, sometimes leaning or reaching over towards something. The camera slips from her grasp and falls into her lap. "****."

"It's not completely illegal," Peter objects from the front, where he's once again driving.

"This is very illegal," MJ snorts. "I don't have a seatbelt on, Peter. I don't have a seat."

"We can't just lock them in their crates, alone in the trunk!" Peter sounds scandalized. "They should get to move around, and someone needs to sit with them! I offered to have you drive."

"Ugh, I hate driving," MJ groans. "Just drive careful, if we get in a crash I'll definitely die."

"Then I'd die, too," Peter says theatrically. "Of a broken heart. Also," the dramatic tone drops from his voice. 'If I get in a crash and kill you, my dad and your dad will kill me. So I will still be dead."

"Yeah, that's fair," MJ laughs. Her eyes lock on the camera. "****, is this thing filming?"

Peter bursts into laughter.

Peter and MJ are both sitting on their living room floor, a puppy in each of their laps. Peter is holding a goldendoodle - MJ, a brittany.

"So we obviously got two dogs," Peter laughs lightly. "We just couldn't decide! Had to get both, they're so cute!"

"We're probably going to regret this as we attempt to potty train two dogs," MJ shrugs. "But once we get past that part it'll be great."

"Potty training always sucks, but-" Peter starts, then stops. "Oh my god, Madison, did you just pee on me-"

MJ laughs.

The camera is fixed on the goldendoodle. She's standing in the kitchen, eating out of a silver metal bowl.

"So," Peter's voice says from behind the camera. "This little menace that just peed my pants is Maddie. She's a goldendoodle - the breeder said she's gonna be a mini, but those are some big feet for a little dog. Google says it's almost impossible to predict how big they're gonna be based on their parents, so we'll see. Oh, look at that, you've made a mess."

Maddie has indeed made a mess of her food kibbles, spilling them all over the floor.

The camera slowly zooms in on the brittany, curled up and fast asleep in a corner of the couch.

"Aw, sleepy baby," Peter coos from off camera.

MJ speaks from behind the camera. "This sweetheart's name is Lily," she says softly. "She's a brittany spaniel. Before you say anything, no, her tail was not docked, I specifically picked a breeder that doesn't dock tails. Lily was born without a long tail and I love her just the way she is."

{cut}

Peter and MJ are back in front of the couch. Lily is chewing on a tow, while Maddie is aggressively playing tug with Peter.

"Well, that's it for today, Ironman!" Peter says brightly, barely paying attention to the battle Maddie is having with a rope and his left hand. "I hope you enjoyed meeting our new family members!"

"Bye!" they say in unison.
