After my meeting with Andrews I couldn't think straight. '6 weeks ' I thought to myself. 'It took her 6 weeks to find someone else' I couldn't contain the anger any longer. I did the only sensible thing, I lashed out and dented the wall. A voice inside my head screamed out in disbelief at that simple fact. Then it screamed out again at the lack of pain. Yes you heard me right lack of pain, I didn't feel any pain in my hand. I was surprised myself at the time. I ran to the room where I woke like 3 hours ago. When I arrived there was someone in there who I hoped could explain this to me. I blurt out "I have super strength and I feel no pain," the women in the room looks at me funny for a second then laughs.
"So that's the noise I heard outside a second ago, I thought I was going crazy," she says before bidding deep scarlet.
I look at her and ask, "Is everything ok miss?"
She starts to laugh again and I can't help but laugh song with her. "Yes I'm fine, just a bit embarrassed," she admits blushing deeper scarlet.
"Why are you embarrassed?" I ask.
"I didn't introduce myself, I'm Marissa," she says the blush finally letting up some.
"I'm Ray, it's a pleasure to meet you," I reply.
She blushes again so deep I'm afraid she has no blood left.
"Miss, what's wrong?" I ask rushing toward her. She catches her breath enough to respond.
"You're the Ray, the first proto human in existence," she says slightly breathless.
"I'm the only one of my kind?" I ask solemnly.
She looks taken aback by my response.
"You mean you didn't know, no one told you?" She asks looking away.
"No, no one told me," I say trying to mask the pain in my voice. I turn away trying to hide the tears forming in my eyes.
"Can I be alone to process this please?" I ask.
"Of course you can," she says and rests a hard on my shoulder. She walks out the door after pecking my cheek. I smile then go and lay down to process it all.
