MYSTIC [Part I]

CHAPTER :- 24

Months later, everything's going fine. Boun has not been attacked since. But Ben is still struggling to find the criminal. He has no clue. But he has not given up for the sake of everyone's safety.

Boun decided to meet his mother, since it's been months since they visited her. They have planned on staying for three days.

Three of them are having dinner.

"I am not going there"

"But why mom? We can come back anytime. You should definitely go"

"But I am seeing you after months. I am not going anywhere . That's it! "

"Mom please, don't do that, I want you to go. It's a good opportunity to meet with other great patisseries and bakers. You will get recognized in other places too"

Boun's mom got an invitation to the year's biggest patassier meet up. It's in another city. They will serve their unique desserts and get reviews from the others and the one with the most sales and best review will be awarded. It's a four day event. On the last day, they will have a closing party. She got the invitation in the morning right after they had breakfast.

"You only came yesterday. How can I just........leave"

"Mom I will be happier if you go to that event than staying here....... You're going, right? "

After a long pause she sighs ".....okay, I will"

Boun grins "That's great. So I guess you will have to leave tomorrow"

She nods.

"Then we'll leave before you go"

She smiles weakly at Boun.

"Mom don't worry. I will come back again soon. I promise I won't make you miss me again"

Next day, they get ready to leave in the afternoon.

"Bye mom, good luck" Boun hugs his mom.

"See you soon Mam and Good luck" Prem says.

"Thanks boys" She hugs them both.

"Finally, we are here.......but it's the first time that no one came with a carriage. I was already tired, then I had to fly bac....." His eyes dart at front "...........Prem"

Prem moves his head where Boun is looking at. They see someone sneakily emerging from the castle's door , holding a kid in their arms. The man takes out something from his pocket and hides behind the pillar where a guard is standing, he is definitely up to something. But before he could do anything. Boun runs and shouts "look back"

The guard follows the Prince's command. He steps aside and turns back. He takes out his sword . Prem and Boun reach them.

The child he is holding is Raya. The man has covered his face with a scarf. Boun takes her from him. He tries to wake her up. The little kid Boun loves so much is lying unconscious.

Prem snatches the scarf off the man's face.

"Sean..... " Boun's eyes flare in anger. He punches Sean in the face. His nose starts to bleed so he tries to attack Boun and raises his hand but Prem stops him and hits him with another punch, he falls on the floor and pass out.

Every guard, from Raya's room to main gate has either fallen unconscious or barely conscious as if they are drunk, not just them but the Royals were too like this. Boun and Prem try to wake them up to tell them about Sean but they don't, as they're not asleep but insensate.

They tied Sean to not let him escape anytime. They're trying to make Sean come to his sense so they can ask what he has done to everyone.

Prem throws a bucket of water at him. He comes to sense and flickers his eyes. He sees Prem and Boun, and tries to stand up. But then he feels his hands tied at the back and ankles tied together. He struggles to set free but fails.

"Stop it! There's no gain in..."

"..... SHUT UP! " Sean shouts.

Prem pulls his head back by pulling his hair. He groans loudly in pain.

"What did you do to them? " Prem demands.

He tries a lot to make him spit the truth, but Sean stays silent. So they call some physicians to examine everyone.

The physician says " They are drugged. I can't perceive how they took it........It doesn't seem dangerous but they must come to senses tomorrow........ and the guards and the royals are influenced differently......... like.....they might have smelled or injected directly into the blood"

"Are you sure it's not dangerous? "

"The royals are drugged the same way, I've checked, it's not dangerous, it definitely seems like there was something in their food. But the guards............i'll have to check after they wake up"

"Thank you. You'll be summoned"

Prem and Boun looks at their loved ones in worry.

"It's a relief......... I just hope the others are safe too" Boun says.

Prem puts a hand on his shoulder and nods.

"But.......What do we do about Sean? He won't say anything. We almost lost our Raya"

Prem comforts him as they wait for everyone to wake up.
