When we pulled up to Elle's house, Ethan got out first and I followed him to the front door. I looked around and didn't see her car sitting in the driveway and her garage was open and her car wasn't there either.
After Ethan unlocks the door, I walk inside after him and look around as he shuts the door. I caught a glimpse of the picture on the wall but looked away after Ethan started talking.
"I'm grabbing some folders for Elle cause Milo's sister is going through court and wants me to look over it."
I nod as I look around before following him from the front entrance and towards the living room before stopping once he walks upstairs.
He stops and looks at me from the stairs. "I know you're interested in Milo, but don't snoop." He chuckles.
"Got it."
After he left, I walk around, looking at everything in the living room. I noticed how everything was the same and it's weird that she didn't change anything ever since we broke up.
The same tv was on the wall, the same furniture was in the same spot that it was in when I was here. I didn't see no difference in anything cause it looked the same before I left.
The whole place had a weird vibe towards it now ever since that man came into the picture and it made my stomach turn.
The feeling of something wrong in every aspect of this house.
Ethan was upstairs grabbing whatever he came here for, which I wasn't sure how long it would take him so I decided to walk out of the living room and walk into the kitchen, but it wasn't any better.
I stopped and looked around, seeing how familiar everything looked and it was scary. I hated this feeling inside of my stomach as I looked around more and walked out of the kitchen after a moment cause I couldn't take this feeling anymore.
Everything in this house was the exact same as it was a year ago before I left.
The feeling I was getting was terrible and it was hard to ignore.
After I walked out of the kitchen, I saw that picture on the wall in the hall. I walked to it before stopping and staring at it.
I couldn't understand why it was just a picture of him.
Looking around more, I couldn't see any pictures of Elle.
In fact, there were no pictures of her at all.
When I was here, there were pictures of us everywhere on these walls and now it's one weird ass picture of Milo.
I looked around and saw the old desk that was sitting in the hall close to the door. I saw something sticking out of the drawer and looked towards the stairs for a moment before opening the drawer and pulling out a small notebook.
Usually, I don't snoop around cause it's invasion of privacy but this asshole was hiding something and I wanted to find out what it was.
After opening the book, I furrowed my eyebrows and felt my heart drop before hearing Ethan coming down the stairs.
I slammed the notebook closed and placed it back in the drawer before shutting it. I saw Ethan walk towards me and he stopped before looking around.
"What are you doing?"
"Looking at this ugly picture." I motioned towards the picture on the wall.
Ethan chuckles before looking over at it and nodding. "I can't understand why he has a picture of himself on the wall."
"The only picture." I said.
After Ethan told me that he had what he needed, we left the house. I turned around to look at it once more, knowing that this Milo dude was hiding something bigger than I thought.
