"As an older sister, I have every right to ask what is wrong and since it's been a week already and you're still not acting like yourself, something is wrong."

Layla walked in the living room and sat on the couch, staring at me for a few minutes and finally asked me a load of questions.

I stared at her after she said that before looking back at the tv, trying to ignore her but she grabs the remote and turns it off.

This was why I was avoiding her for a week cause I knew she wouldn't leave me alone about why I was acting the way I was, which would result in telling her.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

She looks at me before giving me a look, which made me look away and stare at the wall. "Jalen, you are a terrible liar. I need to know what's wrong."

"Nothing is wrong." I said as I look back at her.

"Really?"

"Yep." I tried grabbing the remote but she moves away from me.

"You're lying."

"I just want to watch Netflix in peace."

"Then tell me what's wrong."

I look at her for a moment before crossing my arms and pouting. I hated when she did this to me and it's even worse that she's older than me.

"Please?"

When she said that, I leaned my head back and sighed. I looked at the ceiling for a while before leaning my head back up and looking over at her.

She was poking her lip out, driving me insane.

"Fine." I groan before shaking my head. "That night I went out.. I went to a bar and ran into Elle." I saw the look she was giving me, but continued before she could say anything. "She was drunk and I took her home."

"Did anything happen?"

"No. I called Ethan cause I couldn't carry her inside. That's it."

"So, you saw her and your mood fell?" She asks as I nod, waiting for her to give me back the remote and leave me alone.

Layla didn't leave me alone and continued to sit there for a few more minutes before finally giving me the remote.

"Are you ok?" She asks.

"I'm fine." I said before turning the tv back on.

After a moment, I look over at her as she was still looking at me. I sighed as I glanced at the tv for a moment then looked back at her and slightly turned towards her.

"Have you met Elle's Fiance?"

"A little."

"What does that mean?"

"I mean, I've seen pictures of him but never met him in person."

"So, you know nothing about him?"

She shook her head. "Why?"

"Ethan tells me how much of an asshole he is so I just wanted to see what you thought about him."

I saw her nod before slightly smiling. "Don't worry about it, Jalen. You're putting too much on yourself." She pats my leg before getting up and walking out of the living room.

I was now left with my thoughts.

It's been a few days after I encountered Elle, which had my mind in a complete daze ever since that day.

I left that part out cause I knew Layla didn't need every detail about it. I didn't like talking to her too much about Elle cause she thinks it's bad for me to keep thinking about her.
