When I woke up and saw Knuckles laying next to me I was over the moon. I have my mate! But soon reality set in and remembered he's the son of Van Hellsing. I worry as i caressed a lock of the long red fur looking at my mark. In away I think he was worried too so to protect our love he had me mark him somewhere it could blend in. Smart very smart but how long could we keep this up? I kiss his forehead and drifted back to sleep. Morning came and we remained asleep as I felt his arm wrap around me holding me closer. I hear Mallory walking in my room with my meal. "Oh my apologies sire and mate" she said sweetly and quickly walks out. I drifted completely back to deep sleep.

Narrated POV

"Where is the king Mallory?" Tails asked. "He's sleeping in tails he finally found is true mate and they are in bed together." "About time who is he?" Tails said excitedly knowing how Sonic been dreaming of his mate. "Believe it or not it was the prisoner sally brought and this maybe the ticket to get the hunters to back off of us" "wait his true mate is Van Hellsing's son?" "Yes and they do look very happy together" "that's all that matters but sonic should know that being mated to a mortal will make his mate a target from other monsters" "that's what I worry about too tails" the two continue talking not knowing sally was listening in. "That fucking echidna will not take sonic from me!!!!"

Knuckles POV

Sonic and I stayed in bed for what felt like hours but I soon realized I had to get home before my father sends a search party. Sonic gives me a quick kiss and tells me I'm welcomed here anytime and hopes we see each other again. I smiled and told him I'm his mate so we will and leaves his pack house.  When I arrived to my house I see my sisters car parked next to mine and my parents. Damn it.... I walk in my home and was immediately hugged by my mother and sister. "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!" My father yelled with worry in his eyes. "I'm sorry dad I went out after scourge cheated on me got too much to drink and well..... slept with some stranger at a hotel...." I blush I wasn't ready to tell my family about me being mated to the king of the wolves. My father sighs and hugs me. "As long as you're safe now that's all that matters now." He said. "Now about scourge I talked with his father and we agreed that we will not have you two wed so we're on another agreement." He said and I nodded. My father gets a call and leaves my home with my sister following him since she decided to follow in our fathers footsteps and not me. My mother stayed for some reason and I was confused until she heard the car leave. "Ok Knuckles it's just you and me now so tell me the truth." She said crossing her arms. "Mom what are you talking about?" "Knuckloals Charles Van Hellsing I am your mother and I know you were lying about getting drunk and sleeping with a stranger. Now tell me the truth I promise I won't tell your father but I can tell by your chest you slept with a monster now who is it and why?" She demanded and I froze. How the hell?! "Well?!" I look down and take a deep breath.
