I was so nervous as I paced in the clearing of the woods. What if he doesn't like Fleet? Or what if it scares him? My thoughts were interrupted when I heard someone coming and I relaxed seeing him. "Hey" he smiled. "Hey Knuckles glad you came I wanted to show you Fleet" "your inner wolf?" "Yeah" "Ok" he sat on the rock as I take a deep breath. I felt my body start to change and hope he doesn't get scared.

Knuckles pov

I was amazed by his new form. His fur was glowing like the amulet around his neck. His eyes were a vivid green. I felt so special being able to witness this once in a lifetime moment. "Sonic or Fleet you're so stunning" I said. "YAY!" He pounce and licks me with his wolf tongue making me laugh. "I'm Fleet it's so nice to meet you finally and you're so beautiful red" he said wagging his tail. "Thanks ummm May I?" I held out my hand wanting to pet his fur. "OF COURSE" he sat and I petted his fur which was extremely soft. "Wow it's so soft" "thank you sonic makes sure I look my best even after a fight with rogues." He continued to wag his tail. "So every werewolf has a inner wolf and name?" "Yep for Sonic friend tails his wolf is named Miles. Mallory's is Eva, and so on" "Wow that's really cool" I said as he laid his head on my lap. "Yep" he said tail still wagging. "You're really excited aren't you? Since we'll your tail hasn't stopped wagging." I laughed. "That's because sonic and I are happy you didn't freak out and accepted us in our wolf form." "What kind of mate would I be if I didn't?" I smiled and he pounced on me again licking me as I laughed. Yet it stops abruptly and I see he lifted his head flicking his ears. I look over and see a familiar gun in the shadows. "DAD NO!!!" I got up quickly and blocked his aim. "KNUCKLES GET OUT OF THE WAY!" My father demanded as he walked out of the shadows still pointing the gun towards Sonic/Fleet. "NO I WONT LET YOU KILL HIM!" "WHY NOT HES THE KING AND IF HES DEAD THEY ALL DIE!" "BECAUSE IM HIS MATE DAD!!!!" Silence. My father lowered his gun looking at me. "What...." He said in total shock. I'm his mate....." I said again. He held up his arm stopping someone. "Crimson lower your weapon" my father said and my sister comes out from behind us as Fleet curls up closer to me actually scared at this point. "Dad I had a good shot!" "Did you not just hear what your brother just said?" "How do we know he wasn't put under a spell?" "He didn't! Please dad for once look at me as your son and not a bargain chip" I begged still protecting Sonic/Fleet. "Dad look into my eyes and see that I am 100% in control of myself" I said and watch him walk up to me. His blue eyes stare deep into mine. It felt like hours but it was only a few seconds. "Alright I believe you now how the hell did this happen?" He asked and sat down on another rock. I tell him ever that has happened. "So you didn't order your member to kidnap my son?" "No sir I didn't want to risk my packs safety. But I know I only known Knuckles for two days but I do love him sir and I want to make peace with you." "Peace? With the ones who still harm the mort-" "Those are rogues who have been making it hard for my pack to live in peace I assure you my pack hasn't eaten mortal flesh for over 400 years. If I truly wished to harm your son he be already dead and so would you." Sonic said after shifting back. "Knuckles do you love him? Are you happy?" He asked me after a long silent pause. I nod with a smile. My father sighs looking at his gun. "Fine I will get together with other Hunter leaders and discuss this but if I can't convince them.....Knuckles you can never return home because they will find Sonic through you.... Do you understand that risk?" "Yes I do dad....." "As much as that pains me I do care that you are happy and I can't control the mating process of werewolves. Just promise me you'll call us and we can meet somewhere private." "I will dad" I said tearing up. "Ok...." He looks at Sonic. "Take care of my son your majesty" "I will sir and good luck" "I'll miss messing with you little brother" my sister smirked. "I'll miss you too sis" she hugs me. I watch as they both retreated into the woods. "Are you ok?" Sonic asked me. "I'll be fine.... Just...... I hope my father can convince the others....." "Me too Knuckles.....but you didn't have to give up..." "Sonic my life was a mess before I met you..... look the night we meet I just lost my welding job due to pay cuts and came home to find my ex sleeping with a male stripper...... so honestly meeting you was the best thing to ever happen to me..... so I will give up everything to stay with you...." I look at him smiling. "Alright knuckles if that is what you desire then I will make it happen." He smiled and we walked back to the pack house.
