Past with scourge

I caress knuckles fur as he slept peacefully. I love watching him sleep because when one sleeps they feel safe. I have seen him not sleep since Amy and Shadow who gave a formal apology to him after the engagement was announced. So it's nice to see him sleep peacefully once more. I don't require as much sleep as mortals but I won't let my mate sleep alone in the bed we made. He's mine forever in five more days and I couldn't wait. I see him moving a bit like he was dreaming. I wonder what he's dreaming about?

Knuckles's dream pov

I was so happy standing by his side as we put our rings on. Hearing the ordain say we are married was the happiest sentence I ever heard. Until we stepped off the alter a gunshot fired and Sonic collapsed bleeding from his heart. "I told you Knuckles YOU ARE MINE!!!" Scourge said storming up to me and grabs me. "Now we can finally be together" he grins and pulls the trigger again.

Sonic's pov

Knuckles bolts awake screaming no and was visibility shaking. "KNUX CALM DOWN ITS OK!" I held him and he starts crying in my chest holding me tightly. "Thank god it was a dream...." He finally said. "You're still alive...." "Knuckles what happened...." He tells me how he dreamt of our wedding day only to have scourge put a silver bullet in my heart twice. "He killed you right in front of me......" his voice was so shaky. "Knuckles let me make some tea and tell me you and scourge's history." I said petting his head and he nods. We sit in the large living room area of the house. He sips the tea I made for him and he calms down. "Ok tell me" I said looking at him and he sighs setting his cup down.

"We known each other since we were 8 years old. That was around the time my father gathered the leaders for meetings at our home. We were how you say kinda reckless kids and gotten into trouble a few times. Yet that's how kids were. As we gotten older our friendship grew and we attended the same high school. There I had my first girlfriend and I was in love. But Scourge told me she been flirting with him behind my back. I didn't believe him until I caught her in the act and scourge pushed her off. She threatened to kill herself if he didn't go out with her and he told her he was gay. I will never forget the heartbreak in her eyes and she went through with her threat. I did mourn her but at the same time I though she got what she deserved. Scourge helped me through that and I developed feelings for him. We got closer until one night on his 21st birthday we had to much to drink and slept with each other. Our parents found out about this and decided we unite the Hunter clans through marriage. The next 2 years were blissful but.... Five months leading to when I was going to pop the question I noticed he started becoming distant. At first I thought it was because he started training with his father since he wanted to be a hunter and I was working as a welder. I also noticed he wouldn't touch me in bed and give some excuse to why he wasn't in the mood. I stayed home one day to catch up on some laundry and found what looked like a sequin thong wedged between the mattress and the box spring. It had another males scent on it and I got suspicious. I called his father to ask about his night training and he told me that scourge hasn't been night training. I told him that scourge has been telling me about you night training him on Tuesday, Thursday through Saturday. When he assured me that he hasn't been I decided to follow him one Friday night. He's been going to a male strip club to see a stripper named Gishie. I watched as they spent all night exchanging flirty glances, touches on forbidden places, and seductive whispers. I left and was heartbroken but I just denied it. Two weeks later I was fired from my welding job due to cut backs and went home early. When I walked into the house I heard moaning coming from the bed room. The bedroom door was crack so I peeked in and my fears were confirmed. There he was in bed with Gishie having full blown sex. My stomach turned hearing that man whore moaning Scourges name. I burst through the door and they quickly got up covering themselves. I saw the wine bottles and tossed it at them. The wall and glass broke on impact and scourge got up begging for forgiveness. I took the empty bottle and tossed it at him. I yelled at him to get out and toss him and his whore out of my house with their clothes. That was the same night you and I met Sonic.... Now the park incident...... not long after you walked away I felt him tapping my shoulder. When I saw him I turned away from him. He begged me to hear him out. I did because you know my heart Sonic. He told me he ended things with Gishie, how much he really missed me and that he regretted what he had done and wanted us to get back together because I was special to him. I told him he was full of it and that it won't happen because I was getting married..... his eyes filled with envy and grabbed my arms forcing his lips on mine.... And well you know the rest...."

He looks down. "I fear since he is one of the top hunters he'll come and kill you because he doesn't give up easily...." He rubs his arms a tears fell. "Well he won't get to you nor me how about this we go get married now and have the ceremony in five days? Because once we're married I won't be easy to kill." "Really? How is that?" "Because like your dad said before he made peace if I die my whole pack dies. If I marry you there's a special aura that protects me from silver bullets. The only way I die is naturally but their must be an heir first. My sister from another pack has already had pups and they will be my heirs to the throne. Please Knuckles take my hand now so this nightmare won't come true" I smiled and held his hand as he grips mine.

"Yes"
