All of them made their way to Masa's apartment, looking rundown and abandoned. It shocked Meggy how bad the place was, a nearby lightbulb exploding the moment she tried to turn the light on.
Masa glared put the window as Meggy took a seat on Masa's rotten mattress of a bed. She decided to sit Crystal down on the couch and check on Sophia as Lamar paced the room, waiting for the right chance to speak.
Lamar: So...nice place you got here.
Before Masa could speak, a guy in broken and torn clothing with a robot face mask barged in, someone else behind him.
Mask guy: Hey Masa, you still owe me money for-! (Looks around) Oh, you've got guestsp! Ha, my bad!
The guy left immediately.
Lamar (Sarcastically): Nice neighbours too...
Masa: Okay, let me see if I understand the situation...
Masa turned to Meggy.
Masa: You met up with Tari as her trainer initially...
Meggy: Yes...
Masa: Then you...had a child?
Meggy: It wasn't on purpose. I didn't think it was possible for-
Lamar: Two girls to have a kid together?
Meggy: Exactly!
Masa: And you haven't seen her since?
Meggy: I...snuck in to let her meet Crystal once, but that was yesterday.
Masa: Right. And now to more important matters...Sophia, Belle found your phone back at the arena and it has the entire TASCORP server backed up onto it?
Sophia: Right. And if the alerts I've been getting are anything to go by, she's been trying to get into it herself. She's probably trying to get some answers off the server herself.
Masa: So I guess she finally came to her senses. Just wish she'd done it a little sooner...You their, Meggy was it?
Meggy jumped up in surprise.
Meggy: Uh, yeah?
Masa: Your the one who's seen Belle most recently. Did she sound like she wanted to help us?
Meggy thought back, remembering how Belle helped her escape capture.
Meggy: Not exactly...but she has been asking a few extra questions that Lucks wouldn't answer. And...I trust Sophia's motives.
Masa: Fair enough, I just wish you had more to go off.
Meggy: I'm sorry, did you have to give birth in a room with no heating? Because I think that's harder then getting Information.
Masa gave her a scowl as Lamar laughed.
Lamar: Haha! I like this girl, she's got more sass then you Masa!
Masa: Enough! Getting back on topic, can't we just send her the decryption key so she can access it?
Sophia: TASCORP really upgraded their security after we did that whole...crashing their servers thing. Anything I try to send Belle is gonna get flagged by the company's firewalls and tip lucks off about the phone.
Masa put his head in his hand as Meggy turned holding Crystal.
Meggy: What about Me? I snuck in once, I could do it again!
Sophia: Meggy, I get you wanna help Tari as much as we do. But if you think getting into TASCORP is difficult, Getting past Belle is light getting past a sleeping dragon. And even if you get in, you'd get caught before you could get out-
