Soft Lock (S2: Ep8)

Everything was going wrong, their entire plan was falling apart. It was all Meggy could think about as her character, Lamar's and Tari ran through the hidden hero city.

Meggy (Thinking): Tari, I sincerely hope you have a plan...

Tari: I know what your thinking and I'm working on it! Besides, things aren't that bad, right?

(BOOM!)

An explosion knocked all 3 of them down from the rooftops and down onto street level where they were surrounded by enemies.

Tari: Oh, Come on!

They readied their weapons, ready to fight until the last 3 minutes on the click we're up...

Until the area around them suddenly became foggy and clouded.

Tari: What the-?

Meggy: That's a Smoke bomb. It's Evelyn! Back to back, quick!

Taking Meggy's advice, they moved back to back. Through the fog, Tari could vaguely see Evelyn slicing enemies in half and impaling them.

Lamar: It's Evelyn. She must be trying to kill everyone in the game!

Meggy: Oh no...if she does that before the time is up, it's game over for all of us!

Evelyn: Hello again...

Through the fog, they could all hear Evelyn.

Tari: Meggy, Lamar, stay close! Evelyn, come out! You wanted to fight me, remember?!

Evelyn: Oh, don't worry, I'll have you soon enough...

Enemies were dying left and right, Evelyn was winning. She was laughing like a maniac through the fog as Tari tried to scan for her location.

Evelyn: I told Lucks I didn't need a partner. I'll kill you first...then your friends and finally...it will just be me left!

Evelyn sprung from the darkness, slicing at Tari and injuring her.

Lamar: Tari!

Meggy was in shock, struck with fear of what could happen if they failed. Lamar aimed at Evelyn and tried to shoot her-

(SLICE!)

But was stopped when his avatar lost his head, rolling on the floor as his body followed.

Tari: Lamar!

It was just down to Meggy and Tari now, right as Evelyn landed another Slice on Tari's body and left her paralysed.

Evelyn walked calmly out from the darkness, Meggy moving to shoot an arrow that Evelyn easily dodged.

Evelyn: No more lucky shots for you.

Evelyn threw some fireworks that left Meggy's character in dazed state, unable to move no matter how many time she spammed the buttons.

Meggy: No no no! I can't move, this isn't happening!!!

Meggy watched in horror as the mist faded, seeing Tari completely at Evelyn's mercy as she was disarmed. No way to run, fight or reason with her.

It was over.

At least...that's what she thought.

Out of nowhere, Tari's eyes flashed purple as she dodged a fatal hit and snatched Evelyn's sword. She grabbed Tari's sword and fought back.

Tari moved like a graceful ballerina, grabbing Evelyn with her grapple and pulling her in for a final cut right down the middle.

She stumbled for a bit, before Tari sheathed her weapon and Evelyn's avatar collapsed to the ground...dead.
